Stunning vintage 1950s black cocktail dress by Form Fit Dresses. New York. Dress features a striped taffeta/satin bodice, sleeves, and belt, and a sheer black crepe skirt(you will want a slip underneath) Side zip. Great details with the bow at the neckline and the belt with side flounce(belt fastens with hooks and eye closures) Original manufacturers tags(See photos) There is no size label, but I would say it is a Small. When laid flat, the garment measures approx: 16" 20.5" from armpit to armpit; 16.5" at shoulders; the skirt is 27" long from the waist; 9" sleeves from shoulder. Vintage Singer dress form Molded From Life series w/ adjustable wooden stand VGC
Up for auction is this vintage Singer dress form with accompanying wooden stand. Both in very good condition. The dress form is a Molded From Life edition, and the measurements are as follows: bust 36 inches; waist 27 inches; and hips 36 inches. The form has some flaking of the gold material used as overlay. There is also a shallow indentation in the area of the bust. Form stands 27 inches tall. The wooden stand is adjustable, height-wise. It is 46 inches tall, and the base is 14 inches square. The cage at the top where the dress form slips over has a loose support. Dress form dates from the late 1950's, to the best of my knowledge, and looks quite decent for its age of about 55 years. Cool wooden mannequin hand all parts are movable as you can see in the photos there is discoloration and could use a good cleaning and one surface crack on the top of the hand but this is only on the surface doesn't affect anything. Big right hand 12" tall 3 3/4" wide i am not sure what kind of wood it is made from. Feels heavier than pine but it might be. Antique/Vintage male form mannequin torso. From early 1900's. It is thick pressed cardboard, fabric covered. It's mounted on wood to an adjustable, chrome plated heavy metal stand, that goes up and down easily with the turn of a metal knob. The mannequin stands evenly on the floor surface, it doesn't rock. It's in very good, clean condition. No major tears, holes or cracks, it does have about 1/2 dozen small holes in the gray fabric, which are a result of use over the years. There is no name brand on this handsome guy. The gray fabric is intact and is not loose anywhere. It's been in a non smoking. Non pet hair, non musty environ. Here's a really neat dress form that I have left in"as is" condition because it has that wonderful deconstructed look and would look great in any number of interior settings as a sculpture. Vintage Modern Sculpture Cast Metal Torso Miniature Mannequin Dress Form 14"
For your consideration a cast alloy metal. Sculptural, female torso. 14 inches tall by 7-1/2 inches at the widest and 4-1/4 inches deep. It weighs just under 4 pounds. It may have been lightly anodized a dark silver tarnish. It has been used for something other than a sculpture there is evidence of markings, of things being stuck or glued to it. The white stripe across the breasts was applied with what looks like Elmer's Glue which can be removed easily. It has no cracks or chips just surface brush marks and stains as well color losses and some stains. By the looks of the inside of the casting it may have some age possibly dating back to the 1960's or 70's. It's a nice piece not hard to look at. I am sad to see her go. But I need the room. I purchased this mannequin about 15 years ago. Because I thought I would sew. But I didn't. So. I wired her as a floor lamp, and used different hats for the lampshade. I would find these amazing vintage dresses at thrift shops and dress her in them. Sometimes she would startle my ex- he thought that there was a stranger in the house. Then again. He wasn't that bright. Her metal parts are no longer shiny. And the metal at the neck is a bit rusty. There is a knob that is missing that protrudes from the top of her neck. She used to have a stamp on her chest. This is a cute 1970 Topper Dawn doll wearing a groovy mini dress. Her makeup is really pretty. She has no chew marks and full. Soft, thick hair. As you can see in the photos, she does have some spots on her legs. I see no holes in the dress or snags in the sleeves, but there is some pinkish spotting on the front and there are rusty looking spots on the back where the dress hook closures used to be. This auction is for a vintage Perfect Fit Adjust-O-Matic Dress Form. The patent date says it was filed in 1957& issued in 1960. It is made of cardboard& is in very good condition. It stands 28 1/2" tall. The measurement around the bottom of the piece is 38 1/2" I am not sure how much you could move the measurements as I would assume the cardboard is most likely not as flexible as it was when new. I do think it would make a excellent display piece in a antique store or home for necklaces& hats. Just a fun decorator piece!
