The newer(and more modern) Metrotech leak detectors sell for over $10,000 so while used(and older technology) this Model 200L remains a very reliable and affordable alternative to purchasing new. I suspect this will be a fairly expensive purchase so bear with me as I will provide extensive details on the unit to help you with your buying decision. About the Unit Being Offered Included with the Model 200L are the original headphones. Sound cup and two operating manuals. In addition, ... morethere are 2 new 9 Volt Eveready#276 batteries, alligator clips and a flat head screwdriver. The overall condition of the Model 200L is quite good if not excellent. It is mounted in a rugged(and very clean) travel case. I recently had the unit tested by a professional HVAC person and confirmed it is working as designed. Regarding the batteries. This unit originally used similar batteries that you found in old transistor radios and are now difficult if not impossible to find. The geophone is used to detect underground water leaks by placing the brass heads on the ground and listening for rushing water through the stethoscope. Included are two brass heads(tarnished) and clear stethoscope tubes with metal ear pieces. The buds are missing from the earpieces and have been wrapped in tape. Also included is a wooden carry case featuring dovetailed joints and brass hasps. The box is heavily scratched and needs a good cleaning. The paper instructions are glued to the inside lid and have air bubbles. The nameplate indicates a serial number of 1428. Which is also stamped on the geophone heads.
