1963 Huber road grader
Photo's will be added in near future. I have a l963 Huber road grader for sale. Was recently used by the local county road department here in Adams County, Ohio, nearest town is West Union. This grader is in good working condition, all hydraulics work, blade and scraper hooks, etc. it has a 471 Detroit diesel motor that has had new heads in fairly recent past, the engine runs very good and does not smoke, also last year the department spent $1800 on a new radiator, the tires are well worn, needs a paint job, missing front windshield, has one newer battery, has a pair to tire chains, and is in a good useable condition. Any questions please message and I will get my heavy equipment mechanic friend to give me the answers. This is a great little machine.a small contractor's dream. I bought this three years ago in Florida.went down and picked it up on a two axle gooseneck trailer.and hauled it home. I used it to finish some roads on some property I was developing.sold the lots.and now am selling my big farm.just don't have a use for it. It's a four cylinder gas engine.manual transmission.hydraulic 6 way blade with hydraulic push blade on the front. I have always stored it inside.and the gauges all work. I replaced the front tires.loaded them with foam.and rebuilt a couple of the cylinders. The rear tires are rough.really rough.but hold air.and so I've never changed them. Also. I replaced a number of hydraulic hoses. It's usable.brakes work.but there is a little seeping around a couple of the hydraulic cylinder shaft seals. I love this machine.as ... moreI can see what in hell I'm doing.can get off it easy to move a rock.and maneuver around tight corners. I think it would be really good for a small contractor because you can move it from site to site easily.behind your own heavy duty pickup. I was leery about the engine.figured I'd convert it to a small diesel.but it runs so good that I abandoned the idea. I parked it in my shop after using it last summer.let it sit all the rest of the summer.all last winter.and clear up until these pictures were taken.and it started on the first crank. This is a great little Grader for a small contractor.farmers with drives. And even putting in new roads. I like it because I can see my work a lot better than I can on a large machine. I had listed it last week.but Ebay said that someone was trying to hack my account.so they canceled the ad.and locked my account. but now I'm back. I apologize to the 16 guys that had this on their watch list. Here's the good and the bad. First of all.it's all there.and everything works.the underblade is fully hydraulic and is nearly 9 foot wide. It'll trench.scrape.and it's quick. The front push blade is hydraulic up and down.but you have to adjust the tilt and angle by hand. I never use it any other way than the way it's set.because I use it for pushing dirt. It starts immediately.no matter how long it sits. I hadn't used it since ... morelast fall.had it stored in my shop.and it took off on the first hit of the key. It's gasoline.a Hercules engine. I believe. When I bought it.I was going to change the engine.but I fell in love with it.it's quiet(except on cold start up it has an exhaust gasket leak.which quits after warmup. I've run it a full 8 hours on one tank of fuel. All the gauges work.and the levers are easy to operate. I've rebuilt the main cylinders.and it does not leak, except for minor seal seepage. I've also put newer tires on the front.filled them with foam.and they are bullet proof. Now, the bad.the rear tires are terrible.they hold air.but they really should be replaced. They are 18.00-26's.which are popular on older machines. The steering wheel is rough.easy steering.but the actual wheel is rough.I've been going to wrap it in electrical tape.but I never get around to it. Works.why fix it? This machine is about as heavy as a normal farm tractor.maybe a little heavier.but I've been able to move it around behind my pickup on a two axle gooseneck trailer.
