HP 3312A Signal / Function Generator
Up for auction. A used HP Function Generator. I've tested this thoroughly and found the following: All functions work from 0.1Hz to 450MHz. The picture shows an example. A very clean 22KHz sawtooth shape. The function settings are 2.2 x(10K button) triangle waveform, no modulation. Above ~450KHz the signal timing becomes unstable and eventually cuts out. I suspect a dried out capacitor in the VCO circuit. But don't have the time to debug it.

Classic HP3312A 13MHz analog function generator in excellent cosmetic and operational condition; late production model serial number 2901A24159. Unit has all original knobs which show little sign of wear and tear. All four feet, plus the front panel and metal casework are nearly blemish free. BNC connectors are all shiny and in good electrical shape. The oscilloscope photos demonstrate that the unit is fully functional in each of the three main waveform genererator modes(sine, triangle and square) Plus, the modulation generator section is also working correctly, as shown by the AM oscilloscope trace with a 102kHz carrier(FM and sweep modes also work, but are not shown here) Last scope waveform shows ~1MHz squarewave into 50 ohms, with good rise/fall times and no overshoot. Powers up but I have no way of testing the functionality of it. This unit is from the bay area in California and was used privately by a guy that worked at Lockheed Martin. He helped build guided missiles there but he has since passed away. It has the bottom feet clips but no stand up metal attachments also the front panel center BNC input is loose. I attempted opening to tighten but couldn't figure it out how to open, I leave this to you! Ya I did the screws under a cover panel but still nothing.
