Estate Antique 20's Fancy Art Deco Marked Sterling Travel Clock for Repair/Decor
This Auction is for an Antique 1920's Art Deco. Marked"Sterling" Folding Travel Clock for either Repair or Decor. The Clock doesn't keep time or wind but the knob changes the hands and Everything else is there and works including the hinges and clasp. The case is Marked Sterling on the inside but doesn't show a manufacture or silver marking so I am not sure if it is plated or not. For that reason I am selling for the Age not the silver content. I believe that the Spring mechanism in the clock is broken and would need to be repaired for the clock to work. I do not do watch repair so I have not opened the clock to see how clean and what is broken. I leave that to the buyer. It also has some dents and scratches from extensive use and age on the inside of the case and of course patina but this doesn't detract from the ... morebeauty of this antique piece. It was almost black with patina and I have extensively cleaned most of the Patina off(but not all) of it, looking for halmarks without damaging the silver in any way. It looks like there is an area on the top of the case for engraving but is NOT Monigramed, which was really popular to do in the 20's. It is a Very Ornate fancy case as seen in the pictures there is a lot of Art Deco design to the floral Edges both on the outside and inside. I haven't been able to find one here in the USA like it nor with this much silver. Normally these have some plastic or brass on them, this one doesn't. The face of the clock is white but not marked either and very plain. But it does have enamel on both the hands and numbers and normal numbering not Roman Numerals on the clock, so I believe it was manufactured in the US and not European. This was from an Estate that I purchased from a couple of years ago and then have cleaned and Sanitized and stored in a Pet and Smoke free environment. This is a vintage Cyclone Heavy Duty Fertilizer& Seed Sower for parts or repair. When I turn the handle two of the gears rotate(rather roughly) and one does not. The gear that does not rotate is the small one that turns the metal plate that turns and throws out the seeds/fertilizer. When I manually turn the metal plate all of the gears move. Something is bent because the plate gets caught up. It is rusty. Dirty, and the bag is torn. There is a piece of wood chipped off on the side. 9 Course Renaissance Lute - In Need of Repair
Up for auction is a 9-course renaissance lute. The makers name on the label is John Downing. The lute has a black back and bowl. With some decoration on the back of the neck. The lute is in n eed of repair. And is not currently playable. The pegbox/headstock has a crack down the middle(see photographs) One of the pegs is missing its head. The bridge has one of its decorative hooks missing(presumably this does not effect its function) It has no fret gut. And no functioning strings(it is currently strung with some nylon wire that looks like it has been spray painted a brass colour at some point! The soundboard seems to be covered in an overly thick varnish of some sort, presumably to cover some scratches or similar. Th lute comes with a plastic case lined with foam. This lute is being sold for repair. Or to be used as a prop or similar- it ... moreis not currently a playable instrument. Because of this the instrument is sold as seen with no returns. I'm afraid I don't have any more information on it than is above- I purchased it on eBay as a project and have come to the realisation I don't have the time to work on it! None have ESN issue that I know of. I checked most of them to be Clean. Good lot for a phone techie. I could fix up most of these into sellable condition for almost triple the value of the BIN but I just do not have the time anymore with the growing inbound inventory flow.
