Up for auction I have a beautiful 6 pc Double Kick Pearl export kit with power toms. Kit is a hard to find and rare Chrome and if you planned to gig this kit it would stand out on stage for sure! There are lots of little dents and dings but the kit still shines bright and had no rust or pitting in hoops and hardware. All Toms have new(less than 6 mnths old) Evans Black Chrome 2 ply batter heads and Evans Ebony reso heads. Kick heads are original and there is a crease at the cut out on the reso head on one of the kicks. All tom hardware and high hat brace(used to mount high hat to bass so the the kick pedal and high hat pedal can be right beside each other) as well as floor tom legs are included. No other hardware. The brand on the case is Otto Fennel Sohne and the kit is from Kassel. Germany. We believe this kit could possibly be from the World War II era. The compass included in the kit is especially nice. It says Fennel Kassel no. 67870(Made in Germany) The compass appears to be in working condition and looks nice. All items inside the kit have min or wear/use to them. Up for sale is a mid-60's round badge era Gretsch Progressive Jazz Drum Kit in Aqua Satin Flame finish. 8x12. 14x14, 14x20. The shells are all original and have NOT been modified with extra holes anywhere! This is a players kit and has a TON of awesome vibe and history. It has been owned by Lee Ruff of the late and great Spizzichino Cymbals. And later was played by Paul Kreibich of Ray Charles' band and the L.A. Jazz Orchestra. I will include in the sale two albums of the L.A. Jazz Orchestra that were kindly given to me and feature this kit! Again. This kit is in players condition, but unmolested shells and in nearly original and complete configuration. Again, there are no extra holes! The shells are in round, and the bearing edges are in good condition. The kit is outfitted with new Remo Fiberskyn heads and they fit on fine with ... moreno issues. The wrap in fair shape with a lot of check marks and spiderweb cracking which is notorious and almost unavoidable for satin flame finishes from the 60's. Still, all the seams are tight, and there is still a lot of life left in this wrap. It looks awesome under the lights. The chrome is vibrant and shiny and looks good(as seen in the photos) but there are issues with some pitting, nicks and scratches. Everything works functionally as it should. I will address all the notable matters on a drum-by-drum basis. 8x12: Both mufflers and all hardware is present and in great functioning shape. Non-original tension rods. An isolated instance spiderweb cracking of the wrap has led to very minor chipping of the wrap(see photos) This is not a problem throughout the kit. Only in this isolated spot. The hoops have some significant scratches and nicks. No paper tag present inside the drum. 14x14: Both mufflers and all hardware is present and in great functioning shape. Non-original tension rods. Also. The legs are non-original. Tightening screws show some light surface rust but still work great and hold the legs on tight. The hoops have some pitting but still look nice. Paper tag
