Designed to fit into the palm of the hand, with a small meter window on top and a very large calculator dial in the center. The big feature is what marketing called"the meter with a memory! aka needle lock. This is the oldest meter with that feature. So it may be the first. Needle locks hold the needle in place until you release it for a reading, and ... morethen holds it again. For the photographer, it allows you to point the meter for a reading, then look at the meter in a more comfortable position. Holding the needle down also protects it a little from bumps and shocks. SANGAMO ELECTRIC METER J33 ROTATING STANDARD W/ BOOK SANGAMO ROTATING STANDARD J33& INSTRUCTION MANUAL This instrument was used to repair and calibrate many of the Sangamo meters. The manual has comprehensive instructions for adjusting single and three phase electric meters. It has a cast aluminum case and is in excellent condition. It appears to have been made in 1952. This is a very high quality instrument. Sangamo built the"Cadillac" of meters from the turn of the century until they were bought out and moved to Mexico in 1975. They were one of the great companies in American history. Vintage1920's or 1930's RARE WESTINGHOUSE WATT HOUR ELECTRIC METER TYPE OB
You are bidding on a vintage 1920's or 1930's Westinghouse Electric meter that is in very good condition except for a small chip in the glass as shown in one of the photos. These are often used to make into lamps where the meter dials move when the light is turned on. It is a bit hard to read due to the small bar on top of the meter. But the serial number is 11 549 458. I have not tried to run current through the meter, so I can't be sure that it works, but it appears to be in working condition. Please contact me if you have questions.
