It has dual action; the powerful orbital motion removes material efficiently, while the free rotation of the pads reduces the spiral scratching associated with a rotating sander. Great for any kind of wood floor surface, including parquet and medallions. This is a heavy-duty, commercial grade machine. All of the painted surfaces you see are steel; no cheap plastic here!
