Restored Vintage Sears / Dunlap bench-top belt / combo / edge sander 4" x 36"
Here is an original vintage(50's-60's? cast iron Sears Dunlap bench-top 4" x 36" belt sander in restored and re-engineered condition. You wont soon find another vintage sander quite like this one. These sanders were incredibly well made when compared to modern import edge sanders/combo sanders. This thing is solid cast-iron is just built like a tank. Just add an electric motor and connect to the sander's 2" drive pulley using a 1/2" v-belt and you've got a wood eating machine. I used this machine professionally in the manufacture of my traditional wood and composite archery bows. I just got a larger commercial machine as my needs outgrew it's compact size. I used this machine for over two years and absolutely loved it during that time. This model of sander had one major design flaw. The original tracking ... moredrum rotated on a fixed axel which pivoted on the protruding threaded rods to provide manual belt tracking. The axel was only secured to the threaded rods by thin bent steel loops that were cheaply riveted on. It was the only flimsy part in the machine. I also didn't like that when the sleeve bearings(that were mounted internally in the tracking drum hub) began to wear. The tracking drum took on a shake and wobble as the hub that held the bearings was poorly designed and very narrow. I re-engineered the tracking drum by scrapping the original front drum and replaced it with another rear drum from an identical sander. Now the front drum had a fixed axel and no moving parts like the rear. Then I machined two aluminum blocks to ride on the threaded rods and also hold the same variety sintered bronze sleeve bearings as the rear drum assembly. CUMINGS POWER SANDER AND BLACK & DECKER 3121 Double Edge Trimmer FOR PARTS
You are looking at two tools I was going to repair. The first is a Cummings power sander that I disassembled to clean and never put back together. I bought myself a new one so this one has to go. I’ve been holding on to it because it has a unique toothed belt and pulley system but I have not found another use… Unit also has a nice 8” power cord! The second is a BLACK& DECKER 3121 Double edge hedge trimmer that I disassembled to replace brushes. Got a new one for FATHER’S DAY so this one has to go. Blade works freely. American Spinner Hardwood Floor Edge Sander, NoResv
This is a American Spinner Hardwood Floor Sander that came in a tool lot I bought at a sale I did not know what this was at the time. I had to do research on the internet to figure out what this was used for. I eBayed it once before quite awhile back with a non responsive buyer. After going through the whole resolution process for nonpayment by a buyer on eBay I forgot all about this sander. I just ran across the box in storage recently and had to open the box up to see what was in it, then I remembered about it(Not remembering about it might have something to do with age according to what's her name, that woman that lives here) Its a little confusing trying to find information about this sander on the internet, there is an American and a Clarke American that look pretty much the same but appear to be different companies so I do not know ... moreall the particulars about this machine. Anyway, this unit is from dry storage in dry New Mexico so rust is not a problem. It is used with repairs, I plugged it in and let it run for about 30 seconds, it seems to work fine with no unusual noises other than it sounds like a jet engine on afterburner when it is running. It would probably be quieter with a bag on the dust collector. There is one repair/service sticker on it and a weld repair to a handle and a caster, the welds look like they are plenty strong and done right so someone thought this was worth keeping and using. The casters are adjustable so that should not effect use just as it is, I see new replacement casters are available on the internet if you want to change it. The unit is pretty clean and the electrical cord and plug are in good condition. To the best of my limited knowledge it looks like everything is working OK. It is not doing anything useful sitting in my storage so I just need to pass it on to someone who can put it to work, because of that NO RESERVE sold as is. Excellent Orebro Viking 78 Toe Kick Sander Toekick Edge Sanding Machine
Original owner. I bought two of these back in 1999. One on a Bona Lease Dustless program, one I bought outright. This is the later, more powerful 2.8 horsepower model. I evolved out of flooring in 2001-2002. Sold most of the equipment but kept a few items. This has been in a cargo container I own since 2002. Sanded 700sf of Maple in my own home back in 2006, and used it on two redwood decks just a few months ago. That's all the usage this has seen in the last 12 years. When I edged the decks I changed the locking plug to a conventional plug, but will ship the original plug also. You will have to change it back to use the original cord. The edger was always used with a power station, with the exception of the two decks that took a total of 2-3 hours to sand. I had sold the power station here on eBay shortly before I knew about the decks. ... moreTwo dust pipes are included, one for a vac, one for a bag. A 25 ft original cord is included. The cord looks like it was tagged with a buffer with maybe 80 grit, but is perfectly useable. Light works. The original allen key to change the paper is still attached to the edger. I actually have the original dust bag, but a mouse chewed it up, so that will not be sold along with the edger. It's possible I have another power station in the back of the cargo container along with an Orebro 10 drum sander that I will be selling shortly here. The brochure and parts list will go with the sander, but not the folder with the actual lease papers. Will be shipped insured for full value. Local pick up is fine, but cash only. This sander is obviously used with a lot of small scratches and some larger ones- most notably on the front of the light cover where it hits the wall, brick, stone, etc. This wear is completely normal- you can order a new light cover for it pretty cheap if it bothers you. Basically, if you're looking for a good used sander that has proven performance then this is it. If you're wanting one that looks new or close to new then this isn't it.

This is a lightly used Grizzly Edge Sander(Model G1531) in excellent working condition. Originally bought new from Grizzly 5 years ago and did not turn out to be as necessary as we thought for our shop's specific needs. It has only been used a handful of times. There is a bit of dust on it from being in an active woodworking shop but there are no superficial marks or damage. The sander will come with extra bands and the original manual.
