AN UNBELIEVABLE VARIATION OF A STANLEY NO. 8 PRELATERAL TYPE 2. JOINTER PLANE. How this plane was born(or reborn) is speculation. Who F. L. Gookin was has not yet been discovered. But the one thing that can't be disputed is the extreme rarity of this example. All the parts fit Type 2. And all work smoothly. The blade is without nicks and is sharp. The mouth is also free of nicks and straight. The only thing you can't see is that the threads on the adjusting stud and adjusting wheel are right-handed, which is correct for Type 2. The rosewood handle and knob are fabulous, also correct for Type 2. No rust anywhere. No corrosion on the brass. Good straight and true sole. The guy who cast this body knew his business. Toys and collectibles that I am thinning down, or a recent estate sale, comes a really neat old estate find, from a quantity of handplanes I recently got from a estate sale, up for auction is a huge handplane just shy of 24" measuring exactly 23 3/4" long x 3 1/8" wide, its a STANLEY BAILEY No 8 JOINTER HANDPLANE in the rare corrugated bottom, when I got it I cleaned off the hazing and years of dust to display better, and upon my cleaning found a old crack in the side panel in the cast, its in a valley U shape, but is not all the way through just goes down to the cross brace and the frog support brace so ... moredoesn't go all the way through, and is smooth not a rough break, more smooth like the rest, it may never go through unless dropped on the floor on that side, displays well otherwise, has a chip off top of handgrip, has hazing to blade and lock, and a bit overall, just gave it a quick clean never polished it up, has paint specs overall on inner black paint that's worn away, there is 3 filed grooves in top edge, not sure why, a way the carpenter marked his tools in the early years, its marked MADE IN USA, but blade is a Stanley Sweetheart Made In Canada on top edge. These are high priced handplanes in nice condition, usually $150.00 to $225.00 so priced accordingly because of crack, still works fine and displays well in a collection, heavy piece weighs 3.8 kilograms itself not well wrapped or boxed, and set in 1" foam sheeting to protect it in postal system. This is a General 8" Longbed Jointer number 480 made in Canada(not their International brand made in the Far East) It comes with a 1 1/2 HP 220 v. single phase American motor and rides on an HTC roller base. It is fitted with the dispoz-a-blade cutter system and has a 4" dust port which may be removed. Last I checked. This machine, fitted as described, sells new for around $4170. Used Grizzly 8" jointer cutterhead 4 knife head may fit jet powermatic shop fox
I recently changed the cutterhead in my Grizzly G0586 jointer to a grizzly indexable spiral head and this the cutterhead it replace. Its a four knife head and the blades that are in it now are the original blades that came in it and have never been out. It also has the pulleys. Bearings, bearing blocks, mounting bolts and I will include a new 4 piece blade set with it I bought but never installed. according to the grizzly site it should fit several other machine but that research is up to the bidder and there will be no return this item if it doesn't fit your machine. Sears Wood Jointer 4 1/8" with Angle Fence
Wood Jointer 4" with Angle Fence. This is a lightly used tool in full operating condition. The cast iron table has an adjustable infeed height adjustment and works completely. The angled fence is adjustable and is capable of being adjusted for angle cuts. Spring loaded guard works well as do all features on this machine. The aluminum cutter head is in a like new condition and even the knives show no rust and are even sharp. 24" long. Manufactures name is not present but I have seen similar one made by Sears and The machine does not include a motor but will hock up easily with a v-belt. Pulley is included on machine.

I do not know what kind of machine they go on The holes are 3/8" diameter and are spaced 3-1/8" apart on center(3/4" from edge) They have some surface oxidation from sitting on the shelf but the edges are protected and very sharp.

Powermatic PM60 8" Jointer Planer
I'm selling my Powermatic PM60 8" Jointer. It runs very well. It has the original 3 phase 3/4hp motor. 3/4 horse may not sound like much but it has never left me wanting more and 1hp convertors are much cheaper. It has very impressive electricals and a magnetic switch. I can run it for you under power. The only two issues are that it is missing the lock down knobs for the fence and the rear door. The handwheel on the fence works in place of the original lock down knob is not ideal but works fine. I do have the belt guard even though it's not shown in the pictures. Paint job isn't the best but it is plug and play as it sits. This is a good old heavy duty cast iron machine that weighs in close to 500 lbs. Local pick up only.
