20" Powermatic variable speed bandsaw, completely rebuilt
This saw has been completely rebuilt/restored. About eight years ago. I bought it very used and then removed everything, and I mean everything off of it. Had all parts sandblasted. Primer, then a industrial paint. New bearings, new belts, one new variable speed pulley(that alone was 600.00) new tires, both wheels were rebalanced, Excalibur fence that is instantly removable, new Carter guides, 3 hp single phase motor, new switch. There was no back door to the cabinet, so I made one out of wood. The saw runs flawless and should last a lifetime if you take care of it. The only item I did not work on is the 2 speed transmission. I removed the top plate and looked at it. It seemed in good shape and I have to admit, I was running out of steam on the project. I set it up to run at a slow speed on my bench filled it with paint thinner and turned ... moreit on. I wanted to not only clean the chains, but rinse the bearings too. It worked very well, surprisingly, not much dirt came out of it. I let it dry for a few days and refilled it with oil. It runs and sounds just fine. There are no issues with this saw. If you look at the others on E-Bay, you will see that they are dirty, well used and will probably have a bunch of issues to deal with, a crapshoot. Not with this one, it is ready to go, turnkey if you will. I have a small shop and this saw was not used all that much at all, very low hours on the rebuild. The reason I am selling it is that it is just too big. It hurts to part with it, but I can't justify such a large saw. Your gain. I am willing to ship this although you will pay the shipping charge. I will use Fed-Ex trucking. I will bolt the saw to a pallet, shrink wrap it well and send it off, no crate. I have a few sets of complete service and parts manuals. This is a really nice machine. It works great. I just replaced the wheel bearings. Blade guide bearings, and tires. It is ready for work. The 141 is constructed of a cast iron body with cast iron wheels, providing a very smooth running/cutting machine. Very easy adjustments and blade changing makes this a joy to use. Powermatic Vertical Bandsaw Model 143 metal & wood cutting
This saw works good but now has only two speeds because the owner removed both 4 speed pulleys(which gave it 8 speeds from 80 to 3.000 F.P.M. There is one 3 speed pulley there but the corresponding pulley is only a single groove. He told me the two speed transmission gives an excellent speed for steel(in low) and the other speed is good for aluminum, other non ferrous materials and wood. It is wired 240V 3 phase. No reserve on this auction. I have listed a set of Carter Guideall 400 bandsaw guides that came off a Yates Y30 bandsaw. When removed. These were funtional, but show signs of use and some noise. Obsessive types may want to go thourgh and rebild everything; if you just want to get your own saw running and make sawdust, these are complete and currently work, but there is some noise. The new price on these is over $650 from Carter; chances are you will get them for MUCH less. They can be seen on a working saw with an appointment. 3/4" mounting posts and right angle bend in photos not included as they are needed for the saw. Ask a lot of questions. Powermatic Bandsaw 87 Band Saw
Here is a well running Powermatic 87 bandsaw as shown. All functions appear to work as they should although I would clean and adjust basically'tune up' things before putting to use. This machine was in service at a pattern shop up until they closed recently. NOTE: welder is not included. A currently wired for 480 volt 3 phase. I won't ship this but I will load for free or drop off at the Fastenal store in Warsaw indiana which will allow you to ship it to your local store through them fairly cheap,
