Caterpillar D5C XL Series III Hystat Dozer, Clean, Dry, and Tight! Joystick
I have decided to sell my low hour dozer. I've had it a couple of years but do not have enough use for it to justify keeping it any longer. It is a clean. Dry and tight machine all around. Undercarriage is excellent. Hydrastatic Drive is smooth and easy to use. Starts immediately. You can see the grease gun holder attached to the top of the engine housing; I keep it handy so I can grease all the fittings after each use. This makes it a little greasy around the wear points, but I figure thats better than the alternative of allowing wear to take place. Grease is cheaper than pins and bushing bearings! I needed to replace the water pump which had just started to drip a little,from CAT) so took the opportunity to do the routine service including changing hydraulic fluid and filters, engine oil and filter, primary air filter, fuel filter, ... moreand cooling system flush and refill with new coolant. It holds excellent oil pressure and low operating temperatures on engine and transmission. Lights do not work, maybe a blown fuse or bulbs, but I have bothered with them because I have never used it at night. As you can see from the pictures, it has not been all painted up so you can be sure nothing is hidden; you can see it's true condition. I will include the Shop Manual, a $500 value, with the dozer. I will take paypal for a $1000 deposit at end of auction or buy it now. With the balance due by cash, certified funds, or wire transfer to be paid before dozer will be released. Up for bids we have 2 vintage paper bags advertising Cannan Cleaners. Woodruff at Putnam St. These were to protect the clothes after cleaning. I do not know the age, but they look quite old just by looking at the automobiles. I'm also not sure where this was located, they were picked up at a sale in Toledo,O. They measure around 23" wide and the longest one is about 53" tall. They show some age but would display nicely. Both for one price. I will probably roll them up and mail them in a tube.
