Came out of a model 101. 6" x 18" Craftsman/Atlas metal lathe. I used this chuck in my lathe until I changed out the headstock with a different thread count. I went to the same name brand chuck and I love using it, I was happy with this one as well, it' s a very nice chuck and you can still get the outside jaws for it from Leavitt/Dexter in Orange. Stunning fascinating supreme dream collectible. Interesting note arguably much finer but for edge splits. United States Fractional Currency notes were issued y the U.S. Government during and after the U.S. Civil War due to the hoarding and shortage of coins in gold. Silver and copper in denominations of 3. 5, 10, 15, 25 and 50 cents.These notes were in use until 1876 and were redeemable by the U.S. Postal Office at face value in postage stamps. A controversy arose concerning the third issue of the 5 Cent Notes. When Spencer M. Clark. The first superintendent of the National Currency Bureau(now the U.S. Bureau of Engraving and Printing) had his portrait printed on the fractional note. A practice barred by law(the currency can portray notable U.S. citizens only after at least two years have followed the subject's death) Fractional currency ... morenotes were issued from August 21. 1862 through February 15, 1876. U.S. Secretary of the Treasury Salmon P. Chase proposed to authorize postage stamps of some type as a new currency. Much of the public were using stamps in lieu of change due to a severe shortage of coins. The post office did not like selling stamps for currency and they did not provide refunds for soiled stamps. Congress and President Lincoln approved the Postage Currency Act on July 17. 1862, which authorized an issue of 5, 10, 25, and 50 cent notes. The 1st Issues became known as Postage Stamp Currency because they bore facsimiles of the then current 5 and 10 cent postage stamps. Postage Currency(1st Issue) were never legal tender but could be exchanged for United States Notes in $5 lots and receivable in payment of all dues to the United States. Up to $5. In the first few months of production, the sheets were perforated like stamps. These sheets were sold to banks and the public in sheets and you could tear off the notes needed with ease. ZUNI WAR PAINT BOLO DEXTER & ROSEMARY CELLICION COMANCHE KACHINA "Book Piece"
Welcome. This is a rare example of a bolo in the form of a Chief's head wearing a war paint mask. Called a Comanche Kachina, and it is depicted on page 82 of the book"Kachinas and Ceremonial Dancers in Zuni Jewelry" where its estimated price value is $800 to $1200. The author says on page 19 that he considers Dexter(1931-1999) to be one of the master artists in Zuni jewelry history; Rosemary was his first wife of three and she did the inlay, while he did the silver work. I will add a picture of the page from the book depicting this bolo as the last picture. It's quite an old piece, made I believe in the early part of the 1957-67 period during which this clasp(the Bennett C31) was used. It is an exceptionally gorgeous piece. For some reason the gold shell doesn't show up in the pictures, but just above the head there ... moreis shell in a true gold color. Next to it there is yellow lip shell. There is also abalone, which is exceptionally opalescent, so much so that it looks like it glows in the dark, brown shell, spondylus(orange) shell, white mother of pearl shell and jet as well as natural turquoise. The inlay is finely detailed and the use of color is very striking. This piece is very similar to some by Ralph Quam but there are some differences and the war paint is not something I've ever known him to do. It is identified in the above book as being by Dexter and Rosemary Cellicion, even though that author originally thought it to be Ralph Quam's work(see the error in editing on page 83) It is not Ralph Quam; it's Dexter and Rosemary Cellicion. This may have been a piece made internally for a tribe member to wear at celebrations and to be kept as a house piece, as it has religious significance. It's so large and striking. The size is 3-3/8" high and 2-3/4" wide. The tips appear to be original. Antique / Vintage Leather Bank Deposit Bag Dexter Horton National Bank Seattle
This is an Antique/ Vintage Leather Drawstring Bank Deposit Bag from the Dexter Horton National Bank. Seattle, Washington. The gold embossed lettering on the bag states"OLDEST BANK IN WASHINGTON ESTABLISHED 1870" According to the information I found online. The Dexter Horton bank was incorporated in 1870 and the Dexter Horton National Bank was incorporated in 1910. The subsequent history was a bit hard to follow, but it seems that there were several acquisitions and mergers in the 1920s and perhaps beyond. It was not clear to me what additional name changes, if any took place, and consequently, I do not know the age for sure. However. Based on that information and the overall appearance of the bag, it seems likely the bag might be from about 1910 to the 1920s, and thus either formally antique or close to it. The front of the bag ... moreis gold embossed as seen in a closeup photo. The bag measures 12" tall with a maximum width of about 8" The drawstring is made from a green cord that appears to be cotton or similar natural woven fiber. The drawstring passes through a series of holes. One pair of these on the front and one pair on the back are through a heavier leather reinforced patch. There is also a small circle of leather protecting the knots at the ends of the drawstrings. At the time of the original listing. This was one of two vintage leather bank deposit bags being offered in separate listings and we also had a couple of canvas bank deposit bags in our ebay store. Condition: As found the bag has a couple of condition issues: The front and back of the bag are separate pieces that appear to have been sewn with the bag inside out so that the stitching does not show when the bag was turned inside out. There is a section along the seam of about 8" in overall length where the stitching is pulled loose and is now missing. This is clearly shown in a closeup photo. I assume this could be repaired if desired by turning the bag inside out again and restitching it. But I do not know for sure. There ar

Dexter Russell S156SC Sani-Safe 6" Scallop/Utility Knife NSF High Carbon Steel
This is a Dexter Russell S156SC Sani-Safe NSF 6" Scallop/Utility Knife made from High Carbon Steel. The Blade is 6" long and the total length of the knife is 10.75" long. As you can see from the pics it is a serrated knife with some wear of scratches and scuff marks but overall still a very good knife and ready to be used again in your kitchen. There are no nicks in the blade or cracks in the handle.
