Search This is a vintage waterman hard rubber fountain pen. This pen is 5 1/8 inches long capped. The pen cap has some serious chips at the opening as shown. The end of the pen is marked 12 POC. The clip is marked Modern B Pats 5.25 09 and 6.22.09. The barrel is lightly marked Pat'd 1884. May 23, 1899, Watermans Fountain-Pen NY USA& Aug 4, 1903. Has the watermans(baseball) logo with ideal in the center of all the print. This pen and cap does not have ANY chasing, the surface is very smooth. Has a watermans ideal nib NY and a feed marked patd may 2 august 4. I think there are additional markings but I cant see any further on the nib. Nib has a heart cut out and looks to be in great shape. The nib section unscrews to fill the pen. I did not test or use this pen so I dont know if it writes or not. Woolworth Co. catalog page of Sun Rubber toys from 1952 pictured in O'Brien's 3rd edition Collecting Toy Cars& Trucks(page 490) which shows this toy listed for $.49. The roadster is in good original condition. There is missing paint on Donald's hat and there are marks on the body of the car. Other than that the paint is in generally very good shape for its age. It is marked on the top of the face, Germany" and the numbers at the bottom are. 00073" The rubber is still pliable and not cracked. The buckle shows some rust, as does the rivet. The glass has scratches but mostly in the center. The numbers are still able to be read and this may be able to be cleaned up a bit. We only wipe with a damp rag.
