Cornelius Keg- 10-Gal- Homebrew Beer Wine Racetrack Style
Hey Here is one of those ultra cool 10 gallon cornelius kegs for homebrewers! It's rated to 130 PSI just like most of the Corny Kegs you will find on E-Bay. This is an actual picture of the keg that is for sale This is what I did to this specfic keg- I cleaned it inside and out. I replaced one poppet and nylon insert(hard to find) on the gas side with new parts, I replaced the relief valve in the lid with a new one. I installed a silicone dip tube fat o-ring on the liquid side( the original ones are hard to find. I submerged tested the whole tank for leaks- The keg is air tight with 50psi. It's 25" tall to the top of the handles and 12" in diameter. I think most home brewers use these for brew water storage, or as fermentors( they are the right shape for that) They get pretty heavy when filled with beer- 90#s +) I like to ... moreuse them for stuff that I don't have to move around much and maybe just want to lager in bulk. I then rack off into smaller kegs for serving. I have 3 more of these 10 gallon kegs that I have to repair before listing but they are coming soon. The keg still checks out perfect. And I believe it's good for years of use. It's a ball lock type general beverage, Pepsi type that has been used in the soda industry. The auction is for one keg. with metal lid and new relief valve and- BONUS- A NEW SEAL SET IS INCLUDED- One dip tube. And large lid seal and both tank plug o-rings.ALL Four SEALS! Firestone or Spartan Brand- Made in the USA. Heavy gauge 304 stainless construction. Standard oval-style and will work fine and seal to opening with Cornelius, Firestone and Spartan kegs, like the type commonly used for homebrew, diy soft drinks, etc. PLEASE Take Note: These lids were originally equipped with the gray plastic dome-type lids. The problem is. Over time the plastic nut that secures this on the inside breaks and considering they have a groove to also fit a gasket, they are almost impossible to find replacements for. Since Corny kegs also make great(and durable) fermenters, I am selling these(valve missing- hole in the ... moremiddle) for the express purpose of using as f ermenter lids- and have them priced substantially cheaper because of the missing valve. They will accept a#1 1/2 drilled stopper and airlock assembly. You can also insert a#2 undrilled stopper reversed(from the inside) and completely block the hole if you wish to use the lid in the regular manner for serving beer/soda/etc. It's a very easy matter to depress the p[oppet valve on the gas side of your keg. Should you need to bleed off the gas. which rather makes the pressure relief valve a moot addition to your keg in the first place. Anyhow. I am an avid homebrewer myself for many years, and have used identical lids to this in both manners I just described, though I am unsure exactly how much pressure the hole blocked with solid stopper will hold. I'm certain it will hold at least 5 to 10 lb(serving pressure) If you're a stickler for details, they do not make the plastic valve anymore, but they do make a metal replacement. Custom Mini Fridge Kegerator for Homebrew Corny Keg or 1/6 bbl commercial Sanke
Up for sale is a custom Kegerator setup for Homebrew Corny Kegs. It is a 3 cf mini fridge(all refrigerator. No bending of a freezer section was needed) It has castors, so it rolls, though they are kind of tricky to swivel. It stands 33" tall, 22" front to back and 19" wide. I gave it a custom green/ivory retro paint job and I have some chrome trim that goes with it, but have not yet installed it. It will hold one 5-gal ball lock keg on the floor and possibly a 2.5 or 3-gal on the compressor hump. It will also fit a 5 lb CO2 tank on the hump as well. The ball-lock disconnect is connected via swivel nut. So I believe it would be easy to swap out for a pin-lock connection for coke kegs or a properly outfitted Sanke coupler for 1/6 commercial kegs. Faucet and shank are older. But functional. The thermostat has been replaced by ... morea digital temperature controller(reads in °C) Currently it's set to run between 3 and 4.5°C(37.4- 40.1°F) It currently has a single faucet through the door and could definitely use a drip tray. Hansen Stainless Pin Lock Keg Disconnects Pair USA Homebrew - CO2 & Liquid Taps
Genuine HANSEN Stainless Steel Pin Lock Keg Disconnects for Homebrew Beer Soda Etc- Pair- 1 Each Gas& Liquid I have a pair of Stainless Steel Hansen disconnects available. Made in the USA. These are threaded to accept standard type nut/barb for Home Brew(soda, beverage, etc) which makes them a relatively rare type. All the ones I've seen the past few years are with the hose barb. These fit Coke-type, Pin Lock Kegs/Product Tanks/etc. One fits 2 prong"gas/CO2" side, the other fits 3-prong"liquid" side. These are also 90° angles at the top, which make these and EXTREMELY rare type. I've done countless web searches and have only seen the"straight out to top" kind available as pin-lock. These were used in the soda beverage industry. I consider these to be in very good used condition; there are a few ... moreminor scuffs and scratches(see photos) But I have seen hundreds of these over the years in varying condition and trust me, these are what I would consider"lightly used" I guarantee they are 100% functional and will offer many many years of excellent service. Hansen Stainless disconnects, as anyone who knows their poop about bev stuff can tell you, are the absolute best disconnects you can get; Amercian Made& Industry Standard and well worth the extra $ over plastic disconnects. I'm offering these at less than 1/2 of what they usually go for, and am happy to see them be put back in good service by someone. And in response to multiple queries: I am sorry. I do not have any available for ball lock kegs at this time. Again. They are used, but have been thoroughly cleaned. They were soaked and double cleaned, inside and out with hot PBW, but I recommend cleaning yourself and running some how water and(as always, with any homebrew equipment) sanitizer through them before using with your foamy creations. Vintage three gallon stainless steel Very decent condition. No dings. Some surface scratches. Clean inside. Outside and rubber bumper bottom could use a cleaning. Rubber gasket in good shape.
