please click then supersize the photos for a good look Vintage Schaefer cooler. This cooler has seen better days but ask yourself. When have you ever seen one? Made of plastic with aluminum handles and insulated with Styrofoam. Measures 18 x 13 x 13. The lid is fragile and chipping. With some large chips out of it already, the cooler itself has some of that cheap white plastic on the inside and it has chipped a little near the rim, it also cracked above the drain. I picked this up at a local estate and have not tried to clean it at all so it is dirty as well. Cleaned up. Antique Jockey Box Beer Keg Cooler with Peck Bros Brass Spigot & Brass Pump
You are bidding on an antique“jockey box” beer keg cooler with a Peck Bros& Co. brass spigot and brass pump. Description: This is an old coil& spigot system with brass fittings. Spigot is a Peck Bros& Co. New Haven, Conn. that is solid brass including ball handle(these were typically bakelite) I'm not exactly sure what the coils are but they are definitely NOT SS or copper. They could be aluminum but considering the age of this. Could also be lead. It appears that they have been repaired in a couple of spots(see photos) I blew air through the line, and confirmed it was not blocked but I don't know if the coils are 100% water(or beer) tight, and don’t guarantee such. Coils and fittings are housed in wooden box with sheet metal lining that doesn't seem to leak. The box was filled with water and let to sit for a few minutes. ... moreNo big leaks were observed but I can't guarantee that it doesn't have a drip or two. The whole box has a really cool cracked paint patina(yeah. I know that technically it's not a patina but you know what I'm talking about) Structurally, the box is very solid and in good shape for its age. However, recognize that this is a very old box. Outside fittings on the box are APPROXIMATELY(rounded up to nearest ½” 21” wide. 16” tall& 16” deep. Inside dimensions are 17” wide x12.5” tall x12.5” deep. The vertical dimension is a combo of about 1.5” in the lid and 11” in the main box. Pump is also brass. On an iron mount and wood base. I don't see"Peck Bros& Co" stamped on it, but I know the company made ones like this. The seal in the plunger seems very snug, and it draws and blows air. It seems to be missing a cap on the end(see photo insert) but you can probably use a brass plug from Home Depot if you were so inclined. There is also an old keg tap and some misc hose pieces.
