Vintage 1960s A&W Root Beer Soda Pop Restaurant Hanging Light Shade Lighted Sign
For your consideration a vintage 1960's A&W shade. Fresh from a local estate. The shade frame is made of metal and has six composite material embossed signs with a glass globe. There is no plug on the end of the wires. It measures about 15 1/2" in diameter by 14" in height not counting the hanging chain and ceiling mount. This is a nice Durasig Eagle brand traffic signal made of hi impact plastic with 8 inch plastic lenses. This is a very nice and clean signal with all original parts. Recently removed from service from a local city. Comes wired and operates on standard household 120 volt so just unpack and plug into any household outlet. Light bulbs are regular household base light bulbs so replacements are readilly available. 60 watt or less is recommended for this size of traffic signal. From the estate of the owner of a local butcher shop. Here, in Southwest Florida. This wonderful sign is one of two that I am offering. Both were displayed in his shop. This sign appears to have been handcrafted.carved and painted. The wood is approx. 1/2 thick. The pigs feet are pegged into the base board(on the other piece the pegs slide out, on this piece they appear to be glued in place) Very structurally sound, stands with no worry of falling. In terrific condition with no breaks, cracks, chips in the wood. The paint is good with very minor scuffing.only mentioned for accuracy. Unsure of the age, could very well be vintage. Vintage wrought iron bracket that was probably used to hang a double-sided sign in front of a business like a gas station. Restaurant or shop. The arm extends 42" the upright iron piece that would have been attached to a building is 16" long with a mounting hole at each end. The two sign hangers on the bottom of the arm are about 20" apart. Attractive, simple design to hang a vintage sign from. The surface has been painted a few times over the years but most of the old paint is chipped off. There is now surface rust and the combination gives the iron a great, encrusted surface texture and color. It is sturdily made and can be left as-is or made to look as new as you like. Hand lettered sign on thin signboard. The sign, not including the frame measures about 21 3/4" wide by 14" tall. The frame is thin chrome. Or shiny metal at least, covering wood, with a glass. The signboard is stamped, or watermarked CRESCENT QUALITY BOARDS on the back. The frame has a lot of little flaws. And though it adds to the look, the sign itself is the main item. Cheap roadside food. Hand-painted menu signs, and the little cafes that housed them are pretty much a thing of the past, and most items like this were discarded as inflation made the prices rise and the sign obsolete, but a few have made it, but most not as clean and bright as this one! Rare 1940's real photo postcard- unmailed. Shows an outdoor neon sign advertising KAU KAU KORNERS- a restaurant in Waikiki. Hawaii that ran from 1930's to 1960. Located on Kapiolani Blvd& Kalakaua Avenue. The sign has at the top Crossroads of the Pacific and in the center says KauKau Korners showing the surrounding islands. Shows an airplane and a ship. In the 4 corners of the sign it gives the mileage to: the Orient, N. America, Australia, So. America. Under the big sign are mileage arrows to other places like London, Alaska, Midway Island, Rio De Janeiro, Cape Horn, Manila etc etc. On the front is also a poem titled ALOHA. You can see Diamond Head in the background and palm trees. Card has an EKC stamp box. In perfect condition with no damage,no odor.

This is the world famous CHIN TIKI that was located in Detroit. Tiki fans know it for its elaborate entire. Movie fans know it from the movie 8 Mile staring Eminem. The sign is day glow orange. Silk screened on plastic. The photos do not capture the true color. The plastic is semi ridge and can still be loosely rolled. Overall it is in good condition.The Sign measures about 45-7/8" long X 13-1/4" wide. There is some light surface wear. The two upper corners have holes. It was clearly nailed up someplace and pulled down. The upper left corner has a hold and a 7/8” crack.
