Antique Whisk Broom w/ Fancy Sterling Handle
A very fancy handle. Marked sterling, on this old whisk broom with cord stitching. One side of the broom shows sufficient wear and loss to the bristles. The pattern on the sterling handle is similar to the 1828"Repousse" pattern, produced by Samuel Kirk. It may not be Kirk's work, but it certainly is just as attractive and detailed. A few minor indentations in the sterling, but no major dents or distortions. No reserve once the opening bid is met.

Brass handle"Silent Butler" whisk broom. It's 5 inches tall and weighs 3 1/2 ounces. The handle is shaped like an old wooden sailing ship and there is a loop on the top for hanging. The bristles look like natural fiber and they are held in a wooden block. The block is covered by the brass housing. The back of the handle is marked"ENGLAND" There is a little bit of movement in the handle. Some spots in the finish(see photos) and when sitting on the bristles it leans slightly to one side. The bristles look like they are unused and overall the condition is very good.

Vintage Black Americana Wood Bellhop Wisk Broom Brush w/ Original Package
This is a vintage wooden bell hop disk. The top features a black(african american) bellhop that has a painted uniform and face with a bellboy hat and white pants with buttons down his shirt. He is standing on the broom and all together the piece measures 7 1/2 inches tall by 2 1/4 inches in diameter at the base of the bellhop. There is some slight discoloration to the white pants due to age but the piece is in overall good condition. It comes with the cardboard cylinder that it was originally sold in. FOR YOUR CONSIDERATION; This is a primitive olde 48" handmade REED BROOM recently found at an old 200+ year old barn in NEW YORK STATE area some where in the Adirondack's in NEW YORK STATE. BROOM Head is:4 1/4" X 7" X 1 1/2" It is a very crude form with nails and staples holding together the reeds. There are some loose string. Rusty metal& some of the reeds missing. This is a wonderful country primitive, I've never seen this type ever before. A true olde BROOM. early blooms made, started in the 1400's) not sure of this broom's age. But looks very old.
