Can lay completely flat to go under most raised furniture. This is a commercial vacuum, so it is designed to rival big names like Sanitaire. I have had several Sanitaire's in the past, and I find them to be equal in reliability and strength, but this is much more maneuverable due to its light weight, in my opinion. This used Model M-1 vacuum cleaner is an industrial vacuum also known as the"Pig" It is manufactured by NSS out of Toledo. OH and it has a safety trap design that allows you to vacuum up large items like screws, nails, etc. and they will fall into the front end of the vacuum before they hit the fan and go into the cloth bag. The safety trap and the bag are easily emptied with no tools needed. The wand is made of aluminum and will have some small dings and scratches from usage, the vacuum tool is also used and has a milled manganese(slotted metal) shoe. It is meant for vacumming carpets, but it is possible to buy replacement shoes and tools to use on cement, hardwood and other uses. It is in good used condition with normal signs of wear and tear that you might see in a commercial vacuum. Some bumps. Scratches, and scuffs but no damage. Physically the only thing I can find wrong is the latch/release that holds the vacuum in the upright position is partially broken off. It still holds the vacuum up but a good push or bump is all it takes to send it forward. This does not effect the way it runs but is a storage issue. If you it is not bumped or is leaning against something, this is not an issue. Mechanically the vacuum is very sound. It runs strong and has a good amount of suction. The power brush works and has a good belt in place. There is another belt stored under ... morethe top of the canister. The vacuum is pretty clean but is not spotless. The power brush is pretty clean but still has a little string and fuzz on it. The vacuum requires paper inner bags and a new one will be needed before the first use.
