Really sweet old meter. Hard pressed to find many of these type meters anymore.Notice the running gears, Awesome! Back in those days they gold plated all of the brass gears, out of this world cool. Ya gotta love the 25 amps, LoL! 1. clothes dryer would use up the entire service and them some. It's hard to see in the photos, but the glass has amethysts hue to it.Steampunk masterpiece coming on.As far as I know the only thing missing is the bottom wire connection cover plate. Really sweet old meter. The outside shell/case has a dent in it. And the glass is gone. But the good news, it did its job protecting the inside. I dont believe anything on the inside was effected, it all appears to be intact to me.Nice gears in this baby, Steampunk is looking to bust out and become another beautiful creation.The only other thing I can think to mention is, the bottom wire connection cover plate is gone, so naturally it won't be present upon delivery, sorry.Did the best I could, it won't be too terribly difficult to fabricate another.If you need to ask a question, please do.I'll get ya back timely fashion. HISTORY The Weston Electrical Instrument Company was founded in New Jersey in 1888. The company was a pioneer in the manufacture of electric measuring instruments and developed the first accurate and portable voltmeters and ammeters. At one point in time. Weston was the world's largest manufacturer of electrical measuring instruments. The company was awarded over 310 patents and was commissioned to illuminate the Brooklyn Bridge. Founder Edward Weston was a competitor of Thomas Edison. Examples of Weston instruments are found in many technology-oriented museums. Including the MIT Museum, The Radio Museum, The Smithsonian, and The National Institute of Standards and Technology. DESCRIPTION This is a vintage Weston Electrical Instrument Corporation D.C. Voltmeter Model No. 45. The device carries various patent dates on the attached metal ... moretag. The latest being July 16, 1901. This is a transportable device that is housed in a beautiful tiger oak case. There is a thick leather carry handle and rubber feet. There is a latch that you undo in order to flip the top back and reveal the voltmeter dial and certification sheet. The meter window is glass. The wooden housing measures about 8” X 8” X 5.5" This is an early piece of the history of the electrification of America. The device really captures a moment in history and is graceful in appearance after all these years. CONDITION This item appears to be in VERY GOOD CONDITION. I don't know how to test it. Vintage wooden electrical clock in need of tlc
Really nice electric clock. Very old, unfortunately not working at present, the case is hard wood measuring 4" in height and 2.5 in width, the face and hands are brass with Roman numerals. There are two brass pillars as decoration and the wood has carvings. The clock itself has written on it 200/250v cycles self apart. The little trap door at the back has a brass Hing and handle.
