For sale is a collectible from Western Electric Bell Systems Telephone Company; a vintage Bell Systems telephone lineman's rotary butt test set and tone generator telecom tool from California in the 1950's-60's. It's used by technicians to test local loop telephone lines. And is marked Bell System made by Western Electric. On one side is a switch to change from talk to monitor, and it has a belt hook. Here is a 1962 vintage Western Electric Butt-in test set known as a 1011BW dial test set. This particular test set was not used by the Bell System operating Companies. But ordered by the US Army, which used them as well the US Air Force. It is in very good condition and works perfectly. Complete with the hook to attach it to your belt, which is often missing.

Orange in color and I've cleaned this one up but there are scuffs to the plastic. There seems to be a missing clip on the end where it would have clipped onto the worker's belt. Total length is 8.5 by 2.5 inches wide and 2.5 inches deep on the receiver end. Black rubber on the dial side. The dial works just fine. Bell symbol in the gray center.
