Vintage Leslie original 251 1960s tube power amp amplifier 2-channel tested
This 251 type amp dates to about 1969; a Leslie 251/351 was commonly used with some Conn. Baldwin organs, and of course the Hammond A100 and M100. The amp powers up and passes audio, both channels are working A-OK. The amp was tested about January 2014 in a proper set-up. It's in very good shape. Take a look. Works great, sounds great, a small blemish on the front panel, some tiny scuffs and scratches here and there. Originally an SA-20, this was upgraded to an SA-220 at Counterpoint in 1991. Later this was sent in to counterpoint(just before they closed) to receive all new premium tubes and any other upgrades that were available. It probably has about 100 hours of use since then. I am helping the original owner sell this. It was purchased brand new from Audio Den and it has been in his non-smoking home ever since. Pair Viking II Plate Transformer 1680 Vct @ 300mA, high power tube amp 6550,811A
This auction is for a pair( 2) of plate transformers from Johnson Viking II transmitters they were made by SNC. Primary 115V secondary 1680 Vct@ 300mA. The SNC or Johnson part number is P 1781, there are no other markings on the transformers. These transformers are fully enclosed vertical mounting with the leads exiting the botton. The transformers are in very good physical condition with possibly some minor dents or dings in the end bells not noticed. The paint job on the transformers is in very good condition with a few blemishes. One transformer has some rust on the top of the core and some small spots elsewhere, the other has some rust spots on one end bell as well as some small rust spots elsewhere( see photos) The cloth leads are in good condition, the colors are slightly faded and they are still pliable. The leads on both transformers ... moreare 3.5" to 6" long. The electrical ratings from the manual for the Viking II are Primary 115 Volts, the plate winding is1680 Vct(840-0-840) at 300 mA DC. If the transformers are operated from 120 Volts the output voltage will be proportionally higher or 1760 Vct( 880-0-880) still at 300 mA DC. Each transformer was tested to verify the ratings and to ensure proper operation. These are very large transformers, weighing 10.5 Pounds each. The dimensions are 3.75" by 5" across the end bells by 4.75" tall with the mounting centers are 3.75" by 3" These would be great plate transformers for large audio amplifiers up to 100 watts, single ended audio amplifiers using transmitting tubes such as 811A, 845, 211, ham radio transmitters, or other high power tube projects. There is a pair of Stancor chokes in another listing that could be used with these transformers. Due to their size they will each be shipped in a USPS medium flat rare box. Pair Stancor chokes 4.5 Henries @ 400mA DC,high power tube amp 6550, 811A,EL34
This auction is for a second pair( 2) Stancor chokes that they made for Heathkit, 4.5 H@ 400 mA DC. The chokes are the filter choke in the plate supply in the Heath DX-100 transmitter. The Heath part number is 46-10 and the EIA codes are 138826 and 138013. The first 3 digits are the manufacturers EIA code, in this case 138 is Stancor the last 3 digits are the date code 1958 and 1960. These chokes are potted in a can with mounting flanges on either side with the leads exiting the bottom in one corner. The chokes are in very good physical condition with possibly some minor dents or dings in the potting cans not noticed. The paint job on both of the chokes is in very good condition with few scrapes and blemishes. The paint on the choke 138826 is very good with very few scrapes, on the second choke 138013 there are many small surface rust spots ... moreon the top otherwise the paint is also very good. The cloth leads are in good condition, the colors on one are somewhat faded and on the other they are very good, the leads on both are still pliable. The leads on one choke are 5" long and on the other thay are 7" and 9" long. The electrical ratings from the manual for the DX-100 are 4.5 henries@ 400 mA DC with 40 ohms DCR in the winding. Each choke was tested to verify the ratings and to ensure proper operation. These are very large chokes, weighing 13.5 Pounds each. The dimensions are 4.5" by 4" by 5.375" tall, with the mounting is 2 rows of 3 holes on 4.5" centers thatare on 1.25 centers with the middle hole being centered on the transformer side. These would be great filter chokes for large audio amplifiers up to 150 watts, single ended audio amplifiers using transmitting tubes such as 811A, 845, 211, ham radio transmitters, or other high power tube projects. This is a good. Used, tube-type power transformer. It has filament, rectifier filament and HV secondaries. The HV winding is rated at 800 volts center-tapped at 200 ma, 5 Volts at 3 amps rectifier winding and a 6.3 volt center-tapped filament winding, so it will power a good-sized Stereo amplifier.
