But it has been in my garage for over 15 years now, and I can't find the power cord. I think we used these for generating PL tone bursts. All others are 0-9. So it seems like the range would be 1000x0.01 to 1999x1 or 10 to 1999 Hz. If you plug this baby into a Mesa Boogie Dual Rectifier power section you and anyone will literally not believe your ears how modern it sounds for high gain stuff. This is a tube preamp. It contains no digital circuitry in it although it has a lot of buttons. It has 2 x 12AX7 tubes, and that's where the sound come from- the buttons are just to change stuff around- more specifically presets, 128 of them all programmable and MIDi switchable. That means you can plug your MIDI controller/laptop with a MIDI interface in it and you can change the presets. You could even program a computer to change them during your show. This thing sounds amazing. I've bought it 6 years ago from the United States and I've loved it ever since. I got all my metal tones ... moreout of it and more. All the people who heard it absolutely loved it and couldn't believe how amazing it sounded. The preamp also has a chorus(which is quite warm) and a vibrato- these are the only two effects. The equalizer has an enormous range: if you modify a frequency spectrum just an increment/decrement it makes a huge difference. So the presets are naturally very different from one another. I have several presets of my own from 90 to 99. 92 through 95 are high gain scooped metal tones. 98 is a studio high gain tone- it's more toned down and balanced, less extreme, ideal for recording- it's the one you should try with a Dual Rec. The ADA MP-1 also has three voicings: clean tube- you can get from clean to a super cool rock overdrive- the aggresive type; distorted tube- you're probably going to be spending most of your time here and last but not least solid state clean- which makes for perfect.
