Agrippa Sleeve Boring Bar & Tool Post for South Bend Model A Lathe
This heavy duty Agrippa boring bar- 3/4"x11" comes with a very unique tool post to fit the Model A 9" South Bend compound rest cross slide. The post and bar are from the kit of a long dead and gone Connecticut River Valley machinist who probably made it as a high school shop class project. It worked. He kept it. Used it, and passed it on. The knurling is kind of sketchy and the hole for the receiver is 1/32" off center, so the pieces only go together one way and the bar has to go in as shown in photos. Tightened down, the unit couldn't be more rigid. The photos show the bar dead on center in the lathe. Not just a great old tool but a conversation piece too.
