But nothing that would affect operation. This is an exceptionally heavy duty boring head that would provide a rigid boring setup for a large range of sizes. Flynn Manufacturing still makes this boring head(which sell for around $700 new) and provides a variety of arbors to fit your application. This auction includes a 40 standard taper arbor that was removed from the boring head. It was removed in order to clean and inspect the threaded hole it mounts on. Both threads on the boring head and the arbor are in excellent condition. The arbor has some marks left on it where a tool was used to remove it. Flynn #7B boring head 5/8" shank takes 1/2" 3/8" bars USA 2"
Nice boring head made in Detroit. MI USA. 7B has a 5/8" shank. Looks like with bars that take tool bits you could do approximately a 2" hole. Probably smaller with straight bars. Screw turn fairly tightly but I think its supposed to be that way since there is no locking mechanism. It takes 1/2" bars but looks like it was modified to accept 3/8" as well. I'm not sure. Please look at the picture of the hole to see that it was altered a little bit. It is also inscribed with a person's name on the top and sides.

In the 2013/2014 MSC catalog the 4" diameter(model 65) offset boring head lists for $788(add $125 for the R-8 shank) I hate to part with this but I'm moving across country and have too much weight to transport already. Most of the carbide tips still have their protective coating.
