As per the photos this is a BECKMAN Model G pH Meter. I obtained this from a very old chemistry professor at a local university. It was in his"home" lab and he was getting rid of most of his equipment. He told me it worked the last time he had used it. But I cannot provide any guarantees. I can tell you he took care of his equipment, like a scientist would, so I would think this machine still functions. Up for sale is a vintage Kipp Gas Generator. This is a fairly large unit that is 24 inches tall(please see pix) The unit has no cracks and appears to be hand blown. I have never used it and don't have a place to display it. I cannot rightly say how old it is but I would say it is at least 60 years old but not older than 100. When Kipp invented this apparatus in the 1850's. It was very useful. However, compressed gases are much easier and cleaner than relying on this. Provenance: I received this piece 20 years ago while I was working at MIT. I went down to the stock room to get something and recognized the generator that was up on a high shelf from an old textbook and was quite surprised to see it. Child of the owner said his mom used this in her kitchen for many years and that is marked like braille for poor sighted people(whick his mother was near blind) If this is all true I wouldn't know. This is a timer for 60 minutes(1 hour) Every 5 minutes there are 2 raised bumps next to the numbers and there is one raised bump half way between the numbers. There are 3 raised bumps at the number 30 so you can find the half hour with out having to count it out. Made with a bakelite case and in excellent condition! I see no damage other than maybe a little dirty under the knob on the front. There are no other markings on the timer other than Mark Timer written down the front of the knob. 3-1/4" high at the ... morefront and tilted so you see the front easily. Keeps time just as it should. Keep in mind that the bell will ring at the correct timing but does continue to tick to run down.
