The chrome needs to be polished, filter could stand to be changed and it shows some rusting on the back and back inside. The clock is functional but the battery compartment is full of corrosion so the clock often stops and does not keep good time. The internal clock mechanism is easily replaced by removing one nut and installing another mechanism from any generic brand battery operated clock. A REAL STATEMENT PIECE WITHOUT THE EXPENSE! This is beautiful and very large piece. Standing 18 1/2" high and 11" across it's widest point. It is s great display piece without the concerns of an actual carved lacquer piece. Antique cinnabar is created by covering a metal base with two hundred or more layers of lacquer and then hand carving. This, however, is a vintage reproduction, which gained popularity in the 1960's, and is formed from a mix of resin and carving residue. These reproductions are often sold as real cinnabar. This piece is well made. Deeply carved, and shows no seam lines. Upon close up examination, a little white shows through in a few spots. This movie still is another unique framed piece of Artwork; from our Max and Erma's Decor Division Buyout. We were not sure what this piece was used for; so we contacted the"Will Rogers Museum" for information. We were told that it was a common practice for the Fox Movie Studio; to mount Black and White Stills from their movies; for use as promotional materials. For each movie's local advertising campaigns. Most likely. The name on this poster; Ralph Atchley" was probably an extra in the movie. Since he was from Shelbyville; the Studio used his familiarity as a"attention grabber" to reach residents from the town of Shelbyville, ... moreand get them to come to the Movie Theater. This poster was made by mounting the Original Black and White Movie Still on a much larger Hand Painted Black Mounting Board. It was then Hand Lettered with a paint brush. Both white. And a pale green paint were used for the lines and lettering. This was then hung in the respective theater; and most likely; this is a one-of-a-kind. This board was later framed. And Max and Erma's hung it in their Louisville, Kentucky Restaurant; which is about 35 miles from Shelbyville, Kentucky. Check out our EBAY Store to see other great items from our collection! This listing is for a Nash wooden skimboard. I picked it up because I liked the crusty vintage look. I think it would make a great restaurant decor piece. If you wanted to you could peel more of the loose paint to make it look even more crusty. If you do plan to use this for decor I think you should plan on spraying something on it to keep it from shedding more paint. If you wanted to use it as a skimboard I would recommend you give it a good coat of clear fiberglass resin. The back of the board is white. More paint may come off in shipment. I liked the colors and started to keep it for my retro kitchen; because on the back there are attachments on each side for a shelf or? where ever. It looks like you would unscrew and secure to an end of a counter or shelf? I thought about using it as a sauce rack for Texas Pete and other Sauces or Spices. Again, there are 12 divided places.
