Bought a nice old wooden machinist chest full of older measuring tools and a few cutters. Will be listing them in separate auctions and the box when I get it empty. I will give breaks where I can on shipping so ask me if interested in more than one auction. This is for a set of two small L.S. Starrett Co. v-blocks and clamps. Blocks are number 278 and 2nd number is same on both of 5851 which I believe is a matched set of same height and other dimensions. Both clamps turn freely and are not bent. The blocks themselves have been treated good and are free of chips or rounded corners. Some signs of surface rust. Perhaps a good stoning would spruce them up a bit more but very usable. This listing is for four pre-owned miniature V-Blocks and 12 V-Block Clamps. These are the smallest v-blocks I have ever seen. Two v-blocks measure 1” long. 11/16” wide and 1” tall. Two v-blocks measure 3/4” long, 17/32” wide and 3/4” tall. There are 2 clamps for the larger v-blocks and 10 clamps for the smaller v-blocks(3 of these have no screws) The clamps have thumb screws and fit nicely in the slots of the v-blocks. These will be a nice addition for the machinist or model builder when working on very small projects. There are no markings but they appear to be of good quality, possibly stainless with a satin, non glare finish. V-blocks this small are hard to find. Swiss Precision Instruments V-Blocks And Clamps (50 Per Cent New)
You are bidding on a set of Swiss Precision Instruments V-Blocks with the matching clamps in the original case. One v-block and clamp is new in plastic and one is slightly used. These are heavy duty and high quality! the V-blocks measure 4 7/8" long. 3 1/2" wide and 2 3/4" high with 2 v-s, one on top and one on bottom. one on the top measures 1 13/16" wide and the bottom v measures 1 3/8" wide. The used one is slightly tarnished with minor wear spots on its clamp. The other two pieces(v-block in plastic and packing oil still on it) and clamp were never used) Notice the bottom of clamps and the grooves in v-blocks are both radius's for extra strength. 2 Machinist V Blocks, 8 Parallel Clamps, Clamping Block & BMP Drill Jig Bushing
This listing is for a lot of machinist tools. They are all used and have been in the bottom of my tool box for over 20 years. The parallel clamps are in fair to good condition. One has a crack in the jaw at the front screw. See the close up photo, and one needs one of the threads chased. There are Two 2.25" clamps, there are Four 4" Clamps, there is One 3.5" clamp marked Union Tool Co, and One 3" clamp marked#161 C LS Starrett. Only 2 of the clamps have maker's marks. They all work and would be useful if you need something clamped. The 2 V-Blocks had a bit of surface rust that I cleaned off and they are quite useable as they are. They are 1.5" wide by 2.375" wide and 1.935" tall. The clamp block is in nice shape and quite useable as is. It is 5" long, 2.25" wide, and 1.625" tall. Please wait for invoice before paying. These blocks and clamps are in good shape. I am not a machinist and I'm not familiar with the function of these blocks. A couple have sliding parts. Some come apart, and some have threaded holes. The two small V blocks do not come with clamps. None of the clamps shown fit them. The other square dental looking V block has two clamps. The rounded topped one is missing two threaded screws. A couple have the previous owners name etched in the metal. They were found in a basement with some surface rust. They have all been polished. One or two have some minor pitting. The one gauge block with the round stock is missing the smallest diameter piece. One of the right angle blocks has the numbers 1 2 3 on the side of the individual pieces. 1 and 2 slide up and down the posts. 3 is the stationary right angle piece. As seen in my pictures there are all kinds of shapes and sizes. Great lot for the machinist enthusiast.
