This is a huge lot if vintage sewing items including a paper tape measure with advertising from Haband Company patrson New Jersey. Also included is a smaller 1.5" tomato pin cushion with a small strawberry and a paper tag marked JAPAN on the string between the two. Other items are pictured include wood thread spools of various sizes. 3 different kinds of needle threaded, 3 plastic thimbles, a round wood container with needles in it, a magnetic needle case, a paper cube marked Germany with some original glass pins still in it plus a few others, and a sheet of colored pins marked 15c. Spools and chamber stick, signed with exceptional frame. 11 Photos) The painting, 18" wide by 12" high within frame measuring 25" by 19" has been cleaned and ready to hang. The signature is in the lower right corner.it is quite thin and I can't distinguish the artist's name.I bought a companion painting and that piece had Grace W. Wyman 1894 written in script on the back.I don't know if that would be the artist or the owner.both paintings came out of a Connecticut estate. The painting is very colorful, the artist using shades to accomplish a fine image of a scene typical of the late 19th Century. The plaster frame is not original to the painting, but is a work of art in itself.I have rubbed it down to the varying colors created over ... moretime.it has some plaster edge loss that I have left because I didn't think it detracted that much.there is a bit of a spread in two of the corners and, again, I didn't want to go any further when a buyer might find it totally acceptable. The condition is excellent with no dents or other damage and the thimble top screws on perfectly. The sewing case is 3 1/4" long and from the top of the clip to the bottom of the case it measures 6" long The thimble is about an American size 9(15.5 mm diameter opening) and is quite comfortable to wear. Granger Green A Silk Thread LOOK A-LIKES -2-Salter's+Richardson-Used-Wood Spools
Granger Green"A" Silk Thread LOOK A-LIKES-2 in Lot- Salter's+Richardson- Both Used- Wooden Spools. Appears to be a fairly close match to the silk used on Granger Special bamboo fly rods. The Salter spool indicates color 93. No color number on the Richardson. It is a hard to find color. Useful in restoration. To my eye the pictures demonstrate a more gold color. But in person they are more green with a shimmer. Please know that the spools can be returned at very little cost if you are not completely satisfied. Unable to accurately describe how much has been used or to estimate what remains. Hopefully the photos will give a clear enough picture to make an evaluation. To be on the safe side. Probably less than half of the original 100 is left on each with the Richardson spool having more than the Salter's spool.

The cushions on the chair are to be used as a pin cushion. Then there are 6 wooden pegs that hold the thread spools and 6 used spools come with it. The cushions are a little dingy in color from age. The home made wooden chair is made of painted plywood- a bit rustic look but is in good shape though. There is a hollow wood piece on the back to add a pair of sissors and maybe a ruler or pencil.
