Pacific King outrigger / downrigger reel and pulley w/ line
This is a Pacific King outrigger reel and pulley from the outrigger setup off of a small commercial salmon boat. The reel needs a new wooden piece for the handle(all the hardware is there) The reel is nearly full of thick stainless steel wire/line. The reel is about 8.5" in diameter and the inner diameter of the clamp is 1.25" when fully seated so it would clamp down to a 1.5" tube. I got this as part of a large lot of fishing gear that I recently purchased and there is another available as well(unless it has already sold) If you buy both I will refund the shipping charges for one of them. On the metal on each side it sais 133L for the left side and 133R for the right side and up on the hanger I believe it sais 1838 if I am seeing it right. This is a grass rope block and tackle with dou ble pulleys. Both pulley s have the number 6 stamped on them and an anvil stamped on both sides. The pulley and hook mea s ures about 14 inches tall and 4 inches wide. The rollers are about 3 1/2 in ches across. The rope measures 3/4 inch. I have not unrolled the rope. Hello. You are viewing my sale for a Vintage Nautical Counter Balance Pulley Weight. This is a Solid Steel, 21 Pound, counterbalance weight. Not only was this type of weight used in the nautical field, I was informed that they played a part in the early railroad industry. I am uncertain however what role they played in either industry. Either way, this item would make a great Nautical or Railroad Decor item. This item weighs 21.0 pounds, measures 11" tall by 6 and 1/2" wide by 2 and 3/8" thick. There are marks and wear on this weight however it is in good condition. I am unsure of what the holes are for on the one side. The previous elder gentleman that owned it stated that it was used at one time that he remembers to ease the weight of opening and closing solid steel doors. This is an old Foundry Mold made of laminated and formed wood. With much of the original paint remaining-this originally had a heavy frame around it. This was from a factory outside of Portland, Oregon that made Cranes, and was for creating one of the pulley wheels/sheaves. The center wheel measures 21 in. across by 1 1/2 in. wide at the edge/at the center it is about 5 in. thick-the backing board measures about 27 in. square. This has moderate wear to the painted surface/moderate wear from use-the center piece has a portion missing. RARE 4.5" OLD ALL WOOD SHIP SAIL BOAT PULLEY (0002)
This is an old rare pulley we found at an estate sale. First 2 photos show the true color! Just the wood part measures about 4.5 inches long and 2.25 inches wide. The wheel is wood also. It has a lot of wear and tear and cracks in the wood. The wood is worn and weathered and the copper metal pin that goes through the wheel is tarnished. They used these for sailboats a long long time ago in the sailboat industry. It would be a great addition to a collection of floats or maritime items! Antique Large Nautical Barn Pulley Hemp Rope Double
Very interesting old pulley. Has a very unusual design in that the rope around the side holds the hook. My estimation is this came off a ship well over 100 years ago.
