Sewing Spools and Treaders Bone and Bakelite
These are items found in antique sewing boxes. They probably date to different times in a life of a sewer in gone by dates. Two of the pieces are flat and are made out of bone. Then there is a long piece that seems to have been turned which in bone or ox-bone. The third, the name of which I also do not know and is in the form of a boat, seems to be of bakelite and is probably French from the turn of the 1900 century. There are two more items, one is in wood, red with what seems to be a little steel rod and a round loop like some treader at the end of the rod. The other is a steel bow that has steel bar that goes trough the steel loop at the top curve and has a round look like some treader at the end of the rod. Not sure how these work but if you are a colector you might.

Green box contains 25 spools of color 632 scarlet buttonhole twist. Thread is as vibrantly colored as it was when manufactured because the thread has never been out of the boxes. Great collector's items. When you open the boxes. There is advertising inside the lid and a sheet of printed tissue paper with additional advertising. The other spools also had INTRINSIC showing on the labeling. Also. A bit of the thread has been rewound on the spool so it covers up the slanted wood at the top– The shape is the same as the shape of the included small black spool. Vintage zippered case darning mending thread wood spools needles nice condition
This vintage sewing and mending set includes 14 small balls of mending or darning thread. And 4 spools of sewing thread, 2 J&P Coats brand and 2 have"OK" printed on the wood ends. There are 12 small wooden spools of"Kloster" darning floss. The case is about 7" long, has a nice zipper opener. The outside is a woven pattern in shades of brown and tan, looks like fabric, and has a finish on it to protect it. The interior is red satin, with a velveteen pin cushion in the center. There is a small flaw in the cushion, not a hole but a pin may have caused it. There is a bone tool set in the lid, not sure what it was used for. Also a paper of needles, and a safety pin. 2 Large vintage wooden thread spools. These are industrial textile sized spools. With brass caps on each end. They measure about 9" tall and the tops measure about 2.25" diameter acro ss. The bottoms measure about 2.75" across. The condition is pretty good but not perfect. The bo ttom pieces of each spool broke though it looks like the brass cap is holding it together nicely.
