This is an oval plastic case for holding thread spools. It says"Thread Master- Kerk Guild. Inc. New York, N.Y. Made in U.S.A. Pat. Pend. on the inside bottom. There are 12 wooden spools of thread, a yellow plastic thimble, a few misc. buttons, etc. and two Liberty National Life Insurance Company paper needle holders that were probably given out to customers. The box measures 10 inches x 7 inches and is about 1-1/2 inches high. There are no cracks or chips which is amazing considering it's age and that it's made out of plastic.

Two very vintage boxes of Clark's Hand and Machine Sewing Thread. We believe them to be from the 20-30's era. The first is the larger of the boxes and is marked No 20 One dozen 150 Yard Spools White. It contains ten mixed sized spools of thread. Five black and five white. As shown in the photos this box is in tact with clear print and graphics but has seen some wear. The top end flap is loose and there is hole in the lid. The smaller box is marked No 24 One dozen 60 yard spools Black. There are still 8 spools of black thread, seven of which are full, one used and three full spools of white thread. The box is in tact, with some wear and stains to the lid. This lot has 8 wood spools. 3 of them have a colored yarn on them and 3 of them have a wool like thread on them. There are 2 that have nothing on them and are different and shorter than the 6 others. The smallest measures 5-1/2" The next empty spool is 6-1/2" The 6 other's are 10" long. A basket comes with it. I tried to take pictures of the spools- of both ends of them to see. Questions welcome. Cortland large fly reel with two backup spools and 2 shooting head lines. One spare spool is brand new. Still in its plastic envelope. One line is a Cortland 9 weight 444 shooting taper shooting head line. The second is also a Cortland 444 shooting taper shooting head line but this one is a 8 weight line. Antique /Primitive Double Bobbin Thread Holder w/ 2 Wooden Spools by Singer
What a great authentic antique that can double as a candle holder! This charming remembrance of our industrial past was made by Singer in the early 1900's. It features a metal holder with two antique wood spools and a tall thread guide that is attached by a substantial hinge to a solid wood base. Everything is original. The center post of the spool holder is marked"Simanco USA" The manufacturers of Singer Sewing Machines. The holder was used in early sewing factories, but I have been using it as a candle display with other sewing accessories. The holder is quite substantial. Weighing almost 10 pounds with the two spools. The wood base is 20 inches long and 11 inches wide. It is 2 inches thick. With the spool holder and thread guide. It is 28 inches high from the bottom of the base to the tip of the metal guide. The spool holder ... moreis 13 inches across and 6 inches at it's widest point. Not sure of exact age. approx. 8 3/4"w x 4 3/4"d x 3 1/2"h Spool holders are actually long metal nail(18 all together) Comes with 13 spools of old thread 5 of which are wooden spools& 2 have Clark's labels on them& 1 has Star label. I do not know for sure that the other piece goes with it but at a minium I think it has to do with sewing as there is a ruler carved into wood on one side however I have no idea what this is for. approx. 8 1/2" long. ANTIQUE THREAD BOBBINS from New England thread mill. These bobbins have had a long and usefull life. First as thread bobbind in a water powered thread mill in New England in the 1880's then used as bobbins in the same factory when it became a ribbon factory in the 1950's. Have sat since the 1970's unused, but you can put them back to work in lots of ways. We've sold these to people who have used them for decoration, lamp stands, string/rope spools(ribbon spools! candle stick holders and more. They are 7" tall and 5" diameter. Probably made of birch wood with tin edging as wear surfaces, as you can see in the photos.
