Both nearly perfect condition with 3 pencil point ticks on the big one, and just a few very tiny scuffs on the smaller one. The large one is about 4" long and 3 3/4" in diameter. The smaller one is 3 1/ 4" long and 3" in diameter. There are two other larger brown spools. Both around 3" X 3" and neither of them is dam aged except for some very light and fin e scratches. One of these(picture 2) has three embossings. Two on the top and one near the base, but I cannot read any of them. Pictures 3& 4 show two different olive drab colored spools each with a few chips as pictured. These are 2 1/8" long and 2 1/4" in diameter. Pictures 5& 6 show a ... morewhite spool that is embossed"PP" and is 2 1/4" long and 1 3/4" in diameter. This has several scatterred chips as shown. Pictures 7& 8 show a small brown spool that I believe is a Peirce. But the embossings are weak so I cannot be 100% sure. Damage is shown in the picture. The two smallest spools have maybe a flea bite or two between them. The smallest of the pair(lower left in the first picture) has a weak embossing that looks like"PP" and"U.S.A. These two small spools are 2" and 1 3/4" in diameter respectively. All in all a nice assortment. With minimal damage to report for a ready made collection. I don't think you will be disappointed with these! I will gladly combine shipping on multiple purchases wherever I can to save you money! Vintage Thread Spools with Wool, Set of Two
Wonderful vintage spools with wool( thread still wound on them. Each is 8” long. I have no idea how long the wool has been on the spools or if it’s still usable. But I’ve left it on since it adds a vintage flair for decorative purposes. Spools are made of dark wood and have a series of ribs(reminds me of bamboo) presumably to help hold the thread- see third picture. I have nine pairs for sale. Eight pairs have green thread. Two pairs with about half the spool covered, and one pair with a blue thread that has other colors in it. This is a vintage J.P. Coats sewing thread box made of pressed board with a celephane cover. It contains 60 small spools of assorted colors. Mainly blues, greens, rose, orange reds, tans, beige, light orchid, turquoise blue, deep and dark blues and eggplant. Most are full or lightly used. These did not necessarily come with this box, but all are vintage wooden spools. The box cover has areas of black layer missing. Also the box had been taped shut and there is masking tape stuck to the box. Thread color numbers had been written on the middle divider but these are not the colors in the box. Vintage Belding Button Hole Twist ~ Wood Spools Lot - Green,Red,Blue,Pink,Brown
This is a Vintage Lot of used Wood spools with mixed thread colors. Types, and amounts. The green(shade#9375) says pure silk and the red(shade#4120) I can't read what it says but they have the most thread on them. Then the blue(shade#6145) says pure silk and last is the brown(shade#5430) that also says pure silk which has very little. Also the pink wood spool has a chip in it. Two Hickory(NC) Yarns 9" Plastic Thread Spools Hickory Dyeing& Wynding Company(used) Here are two pretty unique items from a textile production Mill. Each one has a label attached to the inside of the Cone stating that it is from Hickory Yarns a Hickory Dyeing& Wynding Company. It shows that the thread that was on the spool was 100% nylon with a 70/2 Stretch. That it was black in color and it gives a lot number. Both measure approximately 9" tall and are in excellent shape. They measure approximately 2 1/2" across at the base and 1 1/2" across the top of the cone. The outside of the cone itself has ridges to keep the thread in place and for it not to slip. There is a small groove manufactured into the base of the cone where I am assuming it held the end of the thread before it was mounted into place for use. Vintage Clear Plastic Thread Box 17 slots/12 spools of thread included This is a great spool box. It measures approx.7 7/8" long x 4 1/2" wide. It is constructed of a rigid clear plastic. The one flaw are a few cracks on the lid(see my photo's) However this doesn't take away from the useablity of this box. Payment via paypal only using U.S. Funding Sources.
