Really excellent. Museum quality, example of an old 19th century sailing ship hand carved block/pulley with beautiful hand-forged hooks. I collect antique hand wrought hooks and believe me I was tempted to remove this one and add it to the collection. Block itself has nice condition old paint remaining- kind of a light sage green or call it greenish gray. Measures 15" long laid out, block itself about 4" x 6" and 3 1/2" thick including rope-work. Hand wrought hook is 6" long, over 3" wide, with about a 2" diameter eye hole. Ropework is an added plus. Untouched condition. Dates to mid 1800's. Up for auction is a Rare Nautical Boat Wood Ship Lamp. The lamp has a barometer. Pulley with anchor emblem& a Ship Lamp Lantern on it. The lamp measures 36 1/2" tall from the base to the top of the lamp shade holder knob. This lamp does not come with a lamp shade. The base of the lamp is 17" wide. The boat lamp/lantern lights up in addition to the top light bulb. This lamp is in very good working condition. Payment must be received within 7 days of the auctions close. Thank you.

This is a old rare pulley we found at an estate sale. First pulley we ever found like it. Just the wood part measures about 4 inches long and 2.5 inches wide. The wheel is brass or bronze. It has a lot of wear and tear. The wood is worn and weathered and the copper metal pin that goes through the wheel is tarnished. They used these for sailboats a long long time ago in the sailboat industry. It would be a great addition to a collection of floats or maritime items! Antique Single Sheave Naval Block Pulley from Tall Ship
As shown. This was obtained from a former shipyard on the southeast coast of Newfoundland. It is a very old single sheave naval pulley. Complete with hook and connection eye. Several older fishermen here informed me that this is the type used on the old 3. 4 masted schooners and tall ships that sailed here around the turn of the century. I have no way to validate this but have seen several identical types on pictures of the old ships. Since it is a single sheave. I understand that they were used to hoist winches, cargo) and spars. Antique Naval Block Pulley 39 cm Over 12 lbs RARE & Old
The man who sold me this item said it was from the 1800s and was originally used on an old sailing ship. It is very large and heavy but I really have no experience with this type of item so please ask questions if you have them. Freight is expensive because the item is heavy. The length is 40cm from tip to tip. But the block itself is about 24 cm long. The width is 20 cm tip to tip/ block section is 15 cm wide. Depth is 19 cm. One of the pulley wheels has a big crack.
