First up is a GORGEOUS VMI cadet's coatee in rich gray wool w ith loads of trim. Buttons everywhere, and even the original inner col lar still in place. As I recall. This one has an early 1960's date in it and it is named, so it would be an interesting research project to find out what became of this cadet. Jacket is in immaculately nice condition and displays beautifully. Typically. It is s mall. About a size 36 I would imagine. The second jacket is an older Annapolis Navy Midshipman's Cadet dress jacket that's in very nice shape( a little dusty from having been on display) This one has a 1940's date in it as I recall and is the older style. It's heavily pa dded. Lined in ... moresome type of satin-type material, and has the leather lining around th e waist with belt support hooks. Collar has nice gold bullion trim aroun d the edges. Which makes this jet-black shell jacket really look fantastic. This one is abou t a size 40. So it is actually wearable for a halfway normal sized person! Back when I was about 1 70 pounds. I actually wore this jacket to a Civil War history seminar at LSU and let me tell you. It's a sharp looking jacket when you get it on and it acts like a corset- your movements in this t hing are definitely very restricted! It's made to keep you from slouc hing or raising you arms up over your head or doing other things that ar en't becoming of a gentleman! Again. Condition is very good. Not perfect, but no real issues to speak of. Both jackets for one bid. Got to clear out some stuff fast. Very nice original WWI USS Pennsylvania Navy Donald Duck cap. Very good original condition considering its age and use. No moth damage at all. Hat is marked inside with the original sailor's name" G.N. FITCHETT. Leather sweatband is solid with no loose stitching. Sweatband has the initials" G.N.F. on it. Cap has a few spots on the top from long term storage but nothing that really detracts from this neat hat. Cap displays very well. The U.S.S. Pennsylvania was at Pearl Harbor during the attack. She was one of the first ship to open fire on the enemy and was extensively damaged. She was the sister ship to the U.S.S. Arizona. After her combat duties during WWII. The Pennsylvania was decommissioned and scuttled in 1948. That handsome chap Maurice not for sale. A fine addition to any collection. This is a WWII era military rigging knife. The main blade is stamped Jacobs co. Sheffield. This knife measures 4 3/4 inches overall. It has seen a lot of use. And is in no way pristine. This knife was purchased at the estate sale of a local veteran who I knew personally, and who served in the US navy during WWII. Although the family would not part with any of the treasured service items, this was found in his wood shop. LOT OF 2 USN US NAVY INSIGNIA ANCHOR 4" BULLET HOLLOW SCREW TOPS Possibly trench art? This is a set of two 4" tall bullets with one having a USN Anchor Insignia, both have screw off/on tops and hollow inside. The tops have dimples like they could be salt/pepper shakers. But the dimples don't go all the way through the metal. When I shine a light on the lid and look on the inside I can see the light through the holes like only the coating on the bullets are blocking the dimples from becoming holes. I think it would be very easy to turn these into shakers if desired. The bottoms are stamped 1242 They look tarnished to me like they could be silver or just have a nice dark patina/coating. Printed, military flight manual for the Douglas USAF C-118 and Navy R6D aircraft. This is NOT a photo copy or a CD-ROM. The C-118 was the military version of the Douglas DC-6A Liftmaster. First delivered to the Navy as R6D-1 in November 1951, and to the USAF as C-118A in July 1952. The Navy purchased 65 aircraft, the USAF purchase 100, both services used the aircraft for MATS(Military Air Transport Service) operations. Later the Navy transferred 40 R6D-1 aircraft to the USAF for MATS, which was later renamed Military Airlift Command(MAC) When the tri sevice aircraft identifications were introduced in 1962, the R6D-1 aircraft remaining in the Navy became the C-118B, and the R6D-1Z became the VC-118B. Navy ... morebureau numbers are 128423 through 128433, plus 131567 through 131620, with USAF serial number 51-3818 through 51-3835, plus 53-3223 through 53-3305. This manual covers all the U.S. military variants. Although they are very similar between Navy and USAF. There are differences. All Navy aircraft had radio operators, some USAF aircraft had radio operators, some did not. Some aircraft have 10 fuel tanks, other aircraft have 8 fuel tanks. This manual describes, and in many cases illustrates, the different configurations. Flight manual is about 8 1/2 by 11 inches in size. 386 pages printed on both sides, dated 1 December 1956, with several change notices included, weighs about 3 pounds. Emergency area pages have red borders on each page. Manual is in very good to excellent condition. There are a very few hand written notes. Manual is illustraded throughout, most are B&W photos, some illustrations are color coded. Manual has original military covers.
