Vtg Lot of 3 Maritime WWII US Coast Guard Life Preserver Vest Canvas Jackets Collectible Lot of Three Authentic WWII Era US Coast Guard Life Jackets All jackets are ADULT Sized and dated. Two of the jackets are dated January 13. 1943 and the other is dated June 25, 1946. All three of the jackets show some heavy discolorarion and soiling to the duck canvas probably from use from the water and then from aging. The jackets show rips and tears in specific areas and the pictures above have highlighed some of the more distressed areas. More in depth condition below: Specific Condition of Jackets: 1. January 13. 1943 Jacket#1: Canvas shows discoloration throughout from exposure to water. There appears to be some red spots of what looks to be paint near the strap of the left arm hole. There is one two inch tear to the canvas on the front of the life ... morejacket. The fastening straps show little wear- no rips or tears, just discoloration. 2. Januaru 13. 1943 Jacket# 2: Canvas shows discoloration throughout from exposure to water. There is a heavy tear to the right shoulder strap( see picture) and there is about 1 3/4" of fabric left that is keeping the arm strap together, so note the area is fragile and should not be carried in that area. There is also is some red paint spotting to the right of the tear. The fastening straps show little wear- no rips or tears, just discoloration. 3. My first Jackets.I had two that were similar the 2nd one I got for my cousin.It is unlined with no buttons.I would say it is about a sz 36.I did my first event at Corinth Mississippi in 1978.I bought this jacket right afterwards and wore it only a couple more times.I had to quit re-enacting due to going to school and frankly couldn't afford it anyway at that tender age.I kept what small bit of gear I had thinking I would get back in it someday.Well I did in 2006 in Ca.LOL.I pulled this stuff out realized it was too small for me then and it became part of my loaner QM gear when I was promoted to Qm Sgt of our unit.Well now I find we are moving back to TN and I need to lose some things.Sentimental or not this stuff has got to go.Thanks for looking!
