The book itself has no flaws other than some age staining on a few of the opening blank pages. The book only covers Lincoln as a commander-in-chief. Not as a president, with his search for a winning general it's main focus. It is a fascinating study of this aspect of his leadership role during the Civil War. A treasure for any American Civil War collector.

Quite nice for a 100 year old book! Lincoln's Own Stories" by Anthony Gross. Published by Garden City Publishing, copyright 1912. Index is in photos, and note minimal edge and corner wear. Nice and clean inside with name as seen in last photo. Tight binding. 224 pages. I mention the slight musty smell when you stick your nose deep inside only because i realize some people do not tolerate it well. The dust jacket is very hard to find, and this book has it. There is one small chunk missing, and a few short tears around the edges. I have seen this book listed as a first edition, but it does state so inside, and I am not a book expert.
