Two vintage 1960's USAF Lieutenant's dress formal uniform jackets. Both Black Tie and White Tie, plus dress pants. These were from the same lot of officer's jackets I have also have listed, so I think the jacket size is 40L. The jackets have never been worn, although the black one has some small moth damage. This damage is mostly on the back and is about a dozen small( pinhead to twice that size) holes. The white jacket has little to no damage that I can see. The pants look fine and have approx. a 30-32" inseam and I think the waist is around a 30-32" I will combine shipping for multiple wins. Will be shipped in a sturdy box. Oakley Racing Jackets with a dark blue frame and watersport lenses. This is a great lens for wet conditions and does not fog up easily. The frames and lenses are in excellent condition. There are know scratches on the frames and there is nothing big or noticeable on the lenses, almost new condition. The only flaw in these glasses is the mismatched nose pieces, I lost one and didn't have a replacement so I used a nose piece from a pair of Oakley half jackets. Pre and WW 2 Uniform Jacket Grouping, 1926 pattern and 1941 pattern Jackets
The 1926 pattern jacket is named and dated 1939. It was purchased at the Cadet Store at West Point. Charles Hackett was from the class of 1939. When he graduated he was assigned to the Coastal Artillery. What I have been able to determine he was born 18 Dec 1914. During WW 2 he was assigned to the G1 Section 18 and The Staff of the 12th Army group 1944-45 where he earned his Bronze Star. Post war he went to Staff& Faculty of the Command and G eneral Staff College1946-48. The G-1 Section US Army Reserve 1948 then got his MBA from Syracuse 1953. Then to Company HQ 1st Army 1958-1961. He was the Asst. Comptroller Dept of the Army 1962-63. Them Comptroller Hq Army. He retired as a Colonel in 1967. Discount on shipping for multiple purchases. 12K gold hummingbird lapel pin, looks great on women's jackets
One yellow gold humming bird pin. The metal is stamped 14K. But according to Sheffields Diamonds in Oro Valley, AZ, the metal tests as 12K yellow gold. The base of the pin is not gold. The piece weighs 1.7 DWT. Sheffield's recently gave me a retail replacement value(what the lapel pin would cost to replace in today's market) of $278 for this pin. It was purchased at C.D. Peacock's in Chicago in the early 1970s and was my favorite pin to wear with suits when I was a hospital vice president. However, I now live in a remote mountain town in New Mexico where dressing up means adding a fashion necklace or earrings to your blouse and slacks, and I consequently have not worn it for the past 15 years.
