A presumed first edition copy of'With The Green Jackets' or"The Life and Adventures of a Rifleman" by John Percy Groves. It is a story of the'Rifles' or'Rifle Brigade' and is in superb condition for age. Published by Griffith. Farran, Okeden& Welsh. The cloth covered boards have excellent colour preservation and the page edges have all been gilted- again this is in excellent condition. The binding is tight and solid and the board edges have some wear at tips. There is no date of publication but the printer's code at the end is 5/91 so we think 1891 is the publication date. There is and owner's name and gift inscription on front end paper dated 1910. A slideshow of 7 photos of the book can be viewed on my Photobucket account at this address: In February 1892. These jackets were picked up at a estate sale in New Jersey. These jackets were owned by the great great grandson of the author of Star Spangled Banner(Francis Scott Key) They are Shriners Salaam jackets from the Livingston New Jersey club. The first jacket which is his wife's Lady margarita is in great shape it seems like it was hardly used. The other jacket which was great great grandson Francis Scott Key the third is in good shape but does have signs of stains and wear. Both jackets are a size large. If you look on the internet and look up Francis Scott the third of Salaam ambassadors in Livingston New Jersey you could read a story about him and his wife proving that jackets are authentic. Hello. Up for bid is a pair of WW2 US Coast Guard uniform jackets and a USCGR dog tag. The jackets are in very good shape with very miner wear and age. Still in very good shape. Both jackets have their collar devices. All buttons are present and in good shape. The blue jacket has both rating and insignia on the right arm. The tan jacket has no rating on its sleeve. Inside the pocket of the blue jacket was the dog tag thats pictured. It is identified to Charles Foster Skulley, USCGR A- T 2/42. The tan jacket has another name in it. It looks to say HORFORD. The shiny one with the lapel pins fits like a Men's Medium. This jacket says"El Zagel Camel Herder" on the back. The shiny jacket does have a stain on the front(I tried to show it in the photo) But could possibly be cleaned out. Outstanding patina throughout the body. When the carving of the Ere Ibeji is completed. The artist is given a feast and payment as determined by the Orishas. Once the figure is brought to the family dwelling, it is placed on a shrine dedicated to Elegba with the hope that the Orisha or soul, which was split in two parts when the twins were born, will now again reside in the figure that represents the dead twin.
