This Jackson welding helmet is in really good overall vintage condition. I dont think it has been used much at all. The glass is very clean no pitting whatsoever. No cracks in helmet or glass. The only thing i found wrong was the crossmember on head band is gone. Still fits great and doesnt seem to affect stability of helmet while on head. Steampunk possibilities. Posted with

VINTAGE JACKSON PRODUCTS NYLON WELDING HELMET LS&P5653A
This is an auction for a vintage Jackson Products Nylon Welding Helmet; model number LS&P5653A. I believe it was made in Belmont. Michigan in the late 1980's. The year 1989 is printed on the inside of the visor/eye shield and Belmont, Michigan is printed on a sticker on the helmet's interior. The helmet is in good used condition and has a few vintage stickers affixed to it. It adjusts to heads with a 6 1/2" to 8" circumference. It has not been used in a while but I believe it still works properly; the visor/eye shield is not cracked. The only flaws I see are that there are some minor scuff marks on the helmet and there are two tares on the plastic adjustable head strap. The head strap works but may need to be replaced at some point. Please see the attached pictures. What you see is what you get. For auction is a vintage welder's mask from the Jackson company. This is a pre-owned item which has been used so it does show signs of wear. This helmet is made of hard plastic. There are no cracks or chips. It is MISSING its head strap. One could easily fabricate their own as a replacement. We don't recommend the helmet for modern use although at one time it was SEI certified. See picture#10. This will make a great display item. Conversation piece, or even a costume supplement!

Vintage Jackson Darth Vader Steampunk Welder's Helmet.
This auction is for a vintage Jackson welder's helmet with a distinct Darth Vader Steampunk look. It stands 13" high. Is almost 9" wide and has an adjustable headband. It weighs about 1 1/2 pounds.I believe it is made of fibre glass. I took the eyewear apart and pictured it separately. The outer lens acts as a one way mirror. That lens is most accurately depicted in the first picture whereas the helmet is most accurately depicted in the second picture. It is a dark grey color. The helmet has wear and scratches as seen in the pictures. I know virtually nothing about welding. Anyone who purchases this helmet and uses it for welding does so at his or her own risk. Description: This vintage Jackson Welding Helmet is in extremely nice condition for its age. This helmet is clean and its features the“flip-up style” lens that allows the clear plastic protective lens to be used when you are not welding. The helmet currently has a Jackson shade 10 filter lens installed and I am including 3 brand new United shade 10 filter lenses. However one of the new United lenses has a very small chip in the bottom corner but it is still useable. The plastic safety lens on this helmet is very clean and it does not show any signs of wear or abuse. The glass cover lens has some light splatter, but nothing too serious. I’m not 100% sure what model this helmet is, but its clear that its original owner did an excellent job taking care of it. When it comes to welding helmets Jackson it the name to own. Very cool vintage Jackson welding mask. Made out of fiberglass. This mask has a lot of character to it. The eyepieces are both functional and in good shape(with original glass) This one is a little different than most masks. As it has a leather neck guard in place. The mask is in vintage condition, with a lot of distress around the mask which add a lot of character to the piece. Jackson Glass Filter Lens Rectangular 2" x 4.25" ~ ~ In Original Paper Sleeve ~ ~ Shade No. 4 Plus Bonus- Clear Lens Cover From what I've read. Shade 4 is used for torch brazing, light to medium cutting, or light gas welding(see Department of Labor chart shown) I found this in a cigar box of welding lenses and cover plates. Measures 4-1/4 by 2 inches. Etched"JP-4" I do not know its age. But other lenses in the same box included Lincoln's Supervisibility style(previously sold) so probably from the 60's or 70's. Jackson Products, Warren, Michigan. While it looks unused to me. It does have a scuff mark near the bottom, about 1-1/4" from the right edge. No pits or cracks. Maybe a light scratch or two from the paper sleeve, and it could pick up a fingerprint from handling. The sleeve has some wear. Not ... morebad. I found this welder's helmet while cleaning out an old homestead. It still looks in good usable condition. Looks like it is made of fiberglass and very sturdy by Jackson- USA. There are a series of small holes around the perimeter used to attach(sewn) a cloth hood. I removed the hood as it's condition was debatable. Not sure if this model came with the hood or if the owner added it. At any rate you could certainly add one of your own. Helmet does exhibit some scuffs. Etc. due to age and use but is very clean. The head adjustment works fine and there are 2 clear and one smoky lens which seem to be relatively scratch free. Please view pictures as part of description and ask questions.
