Vintage Metal Nickel-aluminum? Horse head plaque Made in Denmark
This is a vintage metal horse head mounted on a wooden plaque that is signed"Made in Denmark" on the back. The horse is made of a non-magnetic metal. It has some gold in it. Especially on the ears and nose, as if it was painted with gold paint and some is now wearing off. The parts that are not gold are more of a silver color, maybe like nickely or aluminum(or maybe a mixture of metals) The horse measures approximately 6 1/2" high by 5 3/4" across. This is a great decorative piece for that horse lover! The white oval backing supports the realistic looking horse's head. Both crafted of fine porcelain. The horse is beautfully sculpted and painted a taupe color with a white star starting between its eyes and extending down toward the nose. The eyes are a pretty, soft brown color. The whole head is very detailed showing the features of the mane, ears, eyes, nose and mouth, even the musculature of this gorgeous creature! The overall effect is one of understated grandure and dignity, much like the actual animals themselves. A very nice ceramic or porcelain wall plaque of a brown horse made by Norcrest. It is marked on the back P 636. The Norcrest sticker is still affixed to the back. Very good condition overall. There is two small white spots on the lower portion that are glaze/ color misses from the original firing and not blemishes(see close up photos) Measures about 7 inches top to bottom and about over 4 inches wide. When hung. It comes out from the wall about 3 1/2 inches. Only blemish is the back hole for hanging has a small chip at the top. Still works just fine.

Signed below the horse head, Dennis Taylor, 03. This wall grouping features octagonal plaques, the largest at 7 x 5 1/2 inches, the middle sized measuring 6 x 6 inches, and the third one 4 3/4 x 5 1/2 inches. The individual frame pieces are brad nailed to the wood used to create the horse's head. Each wood frame has a distressed treatment with small gauges, dings and nail holes. The largest plaque has a front facing horse. The middle size has a right facing horse, and the smallest plaque has a horse facing to the left. We believe that the image of the horse head was applied to the wood using a mask, black coloring and contrasting brown tones. Bronze Horse Head Plaque 5 5/8” by 7 ½” on Wood Block This beautiful unsigned bronze plaque depicts a horse head in profile. It was purchased at an antique show in Ann Arbor. Michigan. Supposedly the plaque came from an old Detroit mansion.The plaque measures 5 5/8 inches by 7 ½ inches. Is ½ inch at the thickest and ¼ inch at the thinnest. There are two small holes in the back that are just under ¼ inch across. That might be used to attach a hanger. The bronze plaque rests on a wooden block which measures 9 ½ inches by 12 ¼ inches and is 1 5/8 inches thick. The plaque and wooden block are both quite heavy weighing over 9 ½ pounds. This is a fabulous plaster wall plaque of a palomino horse head. The detail and color is fantastic. The head is a large 14 inches tall by 14 inches across. The metal horse head part has some scratches to the paint(see photos) could probably use a touch up. The plaque has some wear to the back. WELCOME! The color is bronze. Not sure of the metal. It appears to be made of the same metal that the older horse figurines were made of that had a saddle and a chain for the reins. Some were attached to a clock. There are some light rubs and a little tarnish. The wood measures appx. 9" X 7" The horse measures appx. 5-1/2" from nose to ears and appx. 5" wide. No breaks or dents. The stickers are no longer on the back, but it is probably made by Syroco Wood, Syracuse, NY. One of the plaques has 2 scratches on the lower left front. The other has very minor scratches on the top edge. The horses heads have no chips, cracks, or damage, but could use cleaning. The plaques measure 8 1/2" high, 7 1/4" wide.
