Kenwood TKR-840K-1 UHF/FM 4 Watt Repeater/Base Station 32 Channel 450-480 Mhz For sale is one of four Kenwood TKR-840K-1(450-480 Mhz) Repeater/Base stations in very good condition and have been tested and outputs the full 4 watts. They have been tested in both repeater and base station mode. It has a beautifully rich audio quality. These are designed to be used to drive a high power amplifier. They also can be used as a satellite receiver in a voted system and have built in status(pilot) tone generators to supply constant status tone to the voter. This is an electronic item and has no warranty other than it will not be DOA. This repeater/base is still in production by Kenwood and service/parts are available. These repeaters are considered Kenwood's top of the line commercial analog repeater and retails new: List $3438.00 just for the ... morerepeater unit. The repeater unit consists of a high quality receiver with a built in tunable band pass filter 5 Mhz wide. A control section with two separate remote inputs for external applications such as tone remotes or voters, and a transmitter exciter unit with a constant stabile TXVCO. It has adjustable output from 250 mW to 4 W. A little history about these repeaters: They were used in a voted system; the two older ones were used as a transmitter/local receiver and a remote receiver with the receiver audio being sent to the voter by phone line. Later after narrowband arrived and it was discovered that the coverage area shrunk to almost in half. Two additional receivers were added. Then. The phone companies decided to upgrade their lines to a fiber and copper mix, the system suffered miss-voting and erratic audio levels. A microwave system to bring the receive audio back to the voter was not a cost effective option at the time. As part of our converting our 2 way radio systems from Wide to Narrow band. We changed out all of our MSF 5000 UHF repeaters, with new narrow band units. All of these units were working when we removed them from service. On some of the units we are missing the front plastic pieces. Other than that nothing was removed or tampered with. Motorola MotoTRBO XPR 6550 UHF DMR/Analog HT
This HT is in what I would call rough condition. It is the ugly duckling of a lot I recently purchased. The view screen is scratched and marred but you can see the display just fine. The case is scratched and marred. It has a genuine Motorola IMPRES battery that currently reads 71% of battery capacity remains. The battery and belt clip are in much better physical condition than the rest of the HT. The Motorola UHF antenna is in good shape as is the IMPRES charger. The radio is a TDH model number and as such it is a 450-512MHz frequency range. However. I adjusted the current code plug in it so I could run it on the ham band to do a pass/fail test on it. I was able to access repeaters in both analog and DMR as well as simplex operation. Actually I was surprised how well it works in the ham band. As this radio is the ugly duck of the lot I am ... moreselling it at a true auction starting at 99 cents. I have described it as accurately as possible and it does work. However.
