VHF Motorola Quantar Repeater or Base Radio. P25 The Motorola Quantar is an amazing machine! This one was pulled from commercial service in good working condition. And was used as a digital radio in ASTRO CAI mode. I am not a digital expert, but I understand this to be the P25 equivalent in the Quantar world. I have used these machines for many years in the analog realm, and in my experience, there is no better machine for either base or repeater operations! Very reliable and consistent performance. Newer(newest? version controller. Currently programmed and tuned at mid-band as a repeater in dual mode(analog and digital) narrow band operation, the radio breaks squelch in analog operation at-121 dBm@ 12 dB SINAD and though verified to operate at a full 125 Watts, this machine was never operated above 60 Watts while in service. I have left ... moreit at that for most testing purposes, as my HP8920B sounds an overpower alarm above 60 Watts. I am unable to test the digital modes, as I have no radios or test equipment for that purpose, but I have no reason to believe it is not fully functional there. This machine even has a networking connection so you can log in remotely so you can read and update settings! Amazing! Though I have used this function in the past on similar machines, I did not test network operation, though I have no reason to doubt it is working. Though the firmware reports battery charger option. It is not installed. The power supply does not have the connections for it. All my tests were performed at 120 VAC with the power supply to be included. I do have 48 VDC power supplies available if you prefer that option. The radio is programmed and calibrated for frequency. Power, RSSI and deviation at approximately 160 MHz, and I have bench tested it from 145 MHz to 174 MHz.
