Box is in near perfect condition with no color fading at all. Inner styrofoam packaging is completely intact, no rips or breaks anywhere. And yes, this is coming from a pet free, smoke free home. System is fully tested and works great. Of course, you may need to blow on the cartridge a few times to get it working, but let's face it, that's true of pretty much any NES! I owned ... morea cleaning kit for years and regularly cleaned the system's contacts. The last time I had the system hooked up was about 10 years ago, system has been safely packed away ever since. I only opened it up again now to test it out and take pictures. The controllers are absolutely flawless. Hardly ever used. I swear to you, they're good as new. This is because I bought an NES Advantage joystick on day one along with the NES, so I never needed the controllers. All of my friends who came over for two-player gaming would bring their own Advantage sticks or a turbo controller. I pretty much never needed these controllers. They were honestly only used a few times over the years, usually just packed away in the system box. I can't test out the light gun as I no longer have an old CRT television to test it out with. But it always worked perfectly. So there's no reason whatsoever that it shouldn't work now. But just be aware, these old light guns absolutely will NOT work with modern flat screen televisions.
