antique rare handmade copper iron chafing pot dish food warmer burner heater old
this is a stunning antique large handmade copper and iron food heater warmer with stand and burners. it is Swiss made and signed at the bottom of the pot"Alla Monda" the pot is very large and made from thick copper with a great hand hammered finish. has thick copper handles on the sides and on the lid which all have great hand engraved detail. they are hand riveted to the pot with heavy duty copper rivets. the lid has a domed shape and sits nicely over the bottom pot. the pot has a great patina from age and is a heavy piece. it has a great wrought iron footed stand with swirled legs and 3 slots for burners. it was made this way to be able to use two burners at one for high heat or just to use on in the middle for low heat. the burners are also made from thick copper and have a hammered finish and have handled lids. the other handle ... morethat is connected to the burner turns and opens and closes the holes on the siders to control flame and heat. the inside of the burners contain basically one large wick and after adding fluid will light up perfectly. the burners sit nicely recessed into the base and sit off of the surface it sits. it is in good shape with no dents or pieces missing and has a great patina from age, it measures 18 1/2 inches long by 9 3/4 inches tall by 11 inches wide. great extremely rare one of a kind piece. Antique English silver plated chafing pot sauce warmer Thomas Latham & E. Morton
Up for sale is an antique silver plated chafing pot and stand by the English company of Thomas Latham& Ernest Morton of Birmingham. According to the marks on the base. This piece was made between 1866-1908. Most chafing dishes/pots are not quite as deep as this piece, so it may have been designed for a specific purpose, perhaps for sauces or melted butter. The pot stands about 3.5' and about 7.5" including the stand, and is 4.5" in diameter, 6" with the base.This piece does shows signs of wear, conducive with age and usage. The handle has a chip on the end, and the pin holding it in place needs to be tapped back in to place as it is a little loose. Overall the body of the pot is in good condition with some plating loss, mostly on the on the bottom, outside and in, where the heat was transferred, and one small area to ... morethe top left of the handle in pic 3, shown in close up in pic 12. A tiny dent is shown on the edge of the lid in pic 7, and pics 8& 10 show the handle damage. Please use the zoom feature for more details, and please feel free to ask any questions. The plating could easily be restored by a professional conservator if you choose to do so, as the handle could be removed. Sheridan SILVER Plated ORNATE Chafing Dish - EXCELLENT CONDITION
Vintage Sheridan SILVER plated chafing dish. This is being offered straight from an estate sale. It is in excellent condition and appears to have NEVER been used. Bottom of one of the pieces is engraved with the name of the recipient and appears to have been given by the Iowa Power and Light Company. However this in not noticeable unless the dish is turned over. The removable handle is usually missing. But not with this piece. The wood handle is in mint condition. Includes removable and adjustable burner which is also in mint condition. Bottom piece is stamped Sheridan Taunton Silversmiths LTD. Very elegant piece that looks simply amazing!
