Antique 1894 Victorian Butler Servant Annunciator Clock Call Bell Box
Okay. I'm not sure what this is- I just thought it was NEAT! I think it's a Victorian Oak Butler Servants Annunciator Call Box- from what I've seen on Ebay. I listed"clock" in the title because it was bought at a clock auction(as was the other clocks I have listed) and the auctioneer thought it might go to a time clock or a master/slave clock. It's cool whatever it is. What I do know is that the oak case measures about 12 1/2 inches tall. 7 inches wide and 4 inches deep(bell sticks out a little farther) The bottom portion has a glass over a black metal piece that has a patent date of"Feb 20th 1894" There are 3 holes in the metal piece that will either look black or gold depending upon whether the lever in back is covering the hole(gold if covered by the back lever) The back board is not nailed on(is loose) ... morebut is original to the piece. There are wires and stuff in the back- don't know if complete or if anything is missing. No makers name or markings on anything that I see. Neat and old what ever it is! I have up for sale a very nice vintage original circa later 1800s Hotel Tap Service Bell. The bell has excellent sound.Rings clear and true. It has an ornate base with pierced designs, stands approx 5-3/4" to the top/ tapper section. The bell part is nickel plated and the base appears to be Cast Iron with brass type plated finish. There is some wear to the finish but no damages. There is no maker indicated anywhere that I can see. This comes from the estate of an old Antique Dealer that passed away last year, she was in her 90s and this came from her estate. It has a manufacture date of 1914 on the inside and the patent date for the device is 1913. It is all solid oak and very well made. It measures just over 11 inches tall by 6 1/2 inches wide by about 3 inches deep. We are selling it in 100% untouched" as found" condition, which looks pretty good. The only thing I can see which needs mentioned is that there is a little discoloration on the black around the numbers under the glass and there is a little paint on the sides which should be a fairly easy removal. Lock and Keys for Bell System 526A Phone Housing The lock and 2 keys appear to be unused and to have never been mounted to any housing. The lock and keys come inside of a box that is stamped with the kit of parts number. Which is D-180382. The kit includes the lock assembly, 2 keys, and the strike plate. Check bellsystempractices website to check what housing assembly the lock is able to be used with. As far as I can tell it is only used in the 526a housing assembly. Both keys included operate the lock as they are supposed to. The lock and the strike plate are not marked as far as I can tell. Both keys are marked CHICAGO LOCK CO. ACE, MADE IN U.S.A. and DO NOT DUPLICATE on one side of the key and WEE1 on the other side of each. The keys are barrel type keys. Maid Butler Servant Call Bell Box, 4 room electric New York Long Island Estate
Vintage Butler or Servants four room Bell box Removed from an estate on North Shore Of Long Island's Gold Coast. All there but not working( wire's cut) also has some heat damage in front lower section.Box made of wood and measures approx 13" x 6" Very cool and make for a great conversation piece.
