This is a very old rotary switch made of ceramic with a brass cover. The switch knob is wood-looks like Rosewood. The switch rotates and all the contacts connect. This is shown by the stamped label as being made by Arrow. 10w and 220volts. The switch has four poles. Each pair is connected diagonally. You could also use seperate 110 volts lines for lights ect-both operating concurently. I have included the junction box that it was installed in. There is a little window above the knob showing"ON" and"OFF" The plate can be removed by unscrewing the wooden knob. I never saw one quite like this, lots of push button ones but no rotary style. I assume it was for an industrial application like a motor or fan etc. This is still a cool old switch for your restoration or old project-steampunk? You bet! Early Perkins porcelain / ceramic and chrome bakelite rotary switch
Perkins bakelite rotary type switch. Switch is marked as shown in photos. Piece appears to be all there and in excellent condition. Chrome cover is a little discolored but i think it will polish up well. Cover has some nicks and scratches. It's better than I'm describing. I just like to be sure to point out all the flaws.
