Craftsman Lathe 1/3 HP Motor with Forward/Reverse Furnas Rocker Switch This listing is for a Craftsman Lathe 1/3 HP Motor with Forward/Reverse Furnas Rocker Switch. The Motor is badged Craftsman and is 1750 RPM. It has ball bearings and a two-ended 1/2" shaft. The Furnas switch is Model A-14. Rated for 1 HP, and in good condition. The wiring is not great but will serve as a guide for putting in the length of wires you need for your set-up. There is a separate ON/OFF switch on the motor, but you cannot use it and the Furnas switch together the way it is wired. This assembly came off a 12" X 36" Craftsman 101.27440 lathe but also works with many lathes. Very nice- Original Westinghouse 1/2 HP. 115 volt, single phase 1725 RPM forward/ reversing capacitor start continuous duty motor with prewired switch. This was acquired from an electrician. He wired the unit using SJ cord. The wiring from the motor to the male cord cap is 30" in length. It is a Hubble Twist Lock. Which mates to one of the recepticles on the control pole. This makes the unit easily removable for service if need be, or for transporting. This is an extremely heavy cast iron electric motor. Nothing like the newer ones which use a very thin metal housing. The control panel pole is 21 1/2" tall. It consists of the forward/reversing control switch. Which operates the motor. The base of the pole has a 4" diameter circular mount with 4 openings for securing to your table top. On this unit is a 110 volt duplex recepticle. ... moreThis receptical has continuous power for use with any 110 volt accessories that you may require. The wiring from the pole to the plug for household current, which is 110, is 10 1/2 feet long. The motor base mounting configuration is 5" on center side to side. Slot openings run from 4" to 7 3/4" front to back. One outside edge of the motor base has been cut off as shown in one of the photos. It does not have an impact at all on mounting. There is a two step pulley on the motor shaft which is 2 1/2" OD. The unit also comes with a V belt which is 43 1/2" long. Outside dimension. An extremely nice set up. Motor runs quiet and cool. Unit is prewired for 110/120 volt. Motor has a 25" metal armored cord from motor to Square D forward and reverse switch. 110 volt cord and cord cap are 57" long. Motor shaft is 2" long. 5/8" diameter with keyway. Bolt mounting pattern is 3 5/8" to 6 1/8" front to back slot. 3" side to side on center. Very nice running bolt on installation. Motor was tested and ran cool and quiet. Wiring and motor switch appear to be new. The metal armor cable spiral pulled out in one location. You can see it in the center of the length. It probably can be put back in its place. No damage at all to wires. Up for auction is the drive motor and forward/ reverse switch and wiring for a Ridgid 300 threader. The motor and switch work great and are ready to be installed. Everything is very clean. The switch box has the plug for using a footpedal. If you do not want to use a footpedal, the wires can be jumped on the switch to use it with no pedal. In the last photo you can see the power cord insulation is cracked. The cord will be replaced before item ships. I did not have time to do the repair before the photos were taken: The motors gearbox has a grease line connection. Grease line, and the fitting that mounts on the 300 housing so you can grease the unit externally at any time,this is a great feature as it makes maintenance quick and easy. Please see the photos. As close to NOS as you can get. Was a removed from a lathe that saw very little work time. The lathe was a South Bend 10K, manufactured in the 1960's. GE 1/2 HP. 220 volt, single phase 1725 RPM forward/ reversing capacitor start motor with prewired Cutler Hammer switch. 220 volt cord is 7 feet long from switch to cord cap. Wiring from motor to forward/reverse switch is 27" Forward/ reverse switch and motor are in excellent condition. As you can see. Most of the paint is present on the motor switch.
