World War I US military garrison green cap, with US button, good condition
This cap is in remarkably good condition considering its age. Worn during period of WWI- now 100 years ago this year. The inner lining around the rim is still intact and attached though it is discolored with age. There is a US metal button attached to this cap. As stated above, there are tiny holes from wear and age, not severe ones, just a few tiny ones. And when the cap is spread open, you can see places where reinforced thread was put on- either to attached buttons or to reinforce some stitching. Nice Old and Original Pepsi Cola Sign, Pepsi Cap Button Sign
Nice old and original Pepsi Cola Cap Sign. Neat embossed al metal and paint sign measures 30 inches tall and 31 inches wide. Sign is shaped and made like a pepsi bottle cap. It is 2 inches deep on the bottom and 1 inch deep on the top. It is made this way for strength and to add to the 3 D effect. Neat old was made by the Stout Sign company. Which also made many of the nice old Coca Cola signs. Two factory pre-drilled mounting holes are in the middle area of the sign for easy and sturdy mounting. Sign has a few light scratches and some rub wear along the edge. Please look photos for better description. One area on one of the points in the upper left has a paint chip spot. 2 wool hat tops The MC Marine Cap green & dress blue with red trim Button holes
I can't date these for age for sure. There are no labels or other identifying marks. I am just going on the fact that all of the other Marine items that I have listed from this same estate were from World War 2. Both of these have those little pits that you see in old wool items. Neither is very dirty or much worn. I think these are the tops that you would put on a hat rim like I have listed that is topless. Both of them have buttonholes on both sides. So they are meant to be attached to some kind of hat bottom, which I imagine looks like the one I have listed. That does not have buttons on it though, just safety pins, so I am not sure what was used to hold the two parts together. The blue one is size 7 1/8. The green one is size 6 7/8. That one does have a little bit of discoloration, I think from being stored for so long.
