5 button tunic of Buffalo Soldier Samuel N. Waller. Also an 1895 garrison cap not worn by Waller. He served in all four black regiments during his 40 year's as a soldier starting in 1887 to 1927 his service included the Indian campaign of 1888-90 he served in Cuba and the Philippine's with Pershing in Mexico and service in France in the World War. Waller retired from the army in 1927 he was serving as 1st Sergeant of the Troop A, 10th Cavalry in Arizona, he would make Los Angeles his home he passed away in 1979 at a 105 years old the last of Indian war and Spanish American war vet's.
